I'M GOING TO HELL

Okay, I'm going to burn in hell for laughing at this, but I just read this article and this was the opening sentence...

While a medical examiner in Florida says Anna Nicole Smith's body is decomposing so rapidly that a public viewing may not be possible, the funeral director handling the still-unburied corpse of James Brown's says the soul singer is looking good.

PASSIONS CANCELLED!!!!!!!!!!!

I just heard the tragic news! Passions has been cancelled by NBC!!! What the flippin' hell is going on? Oh, and here's the best part... And by best part I mean most stupid... it's being cancelled because they're expanding the Today Show, to four hours. Really? REALLY??? If that's not the dumbest thing I've ever heard I don't know what is! Four hours!!! Do we really need four hours of Willard Scott and his stupid Smuckers birthdays. Oh look, Aunt Flo is 102830128 years old today. Good for her for lasting long enough. Oh, and now we can see extended segments about which toilet paper is best. I was really worried about that. Luckily the show is going on until at least August of this year, and I'm hoping they may change their mind. Also, another network could always pick it up. Sci Fi did air reruns, but they pulled it soon after because people weren't watching. Of course, if they were new shows things may be different. Who knows. I'm bummed. First 24 (not cancelled, just talking about Monday night's ep) and now this. What's this world coming to?!?

NEWS: HEROES RECAP ON NETFLIX

In case some of you didn't watch the first half of Heroes season in the fall, Netflix is offering a chance to see a recap. You can order the recap, which also has full episodes of two new shows they're touting, Raines, staring Jeff Goldblum. I have it but haven't watched it. I think he talks to the dead or something. Nothing like Medium though, I'm sure. Also on the DVD is a show called Black Donnellys. I have no idea what it's about but the people aren't black at all, which I'm kind of offended by. It was created by the guy who brought us Crash, so again, surprising. Of course, they were going to air that show in the ER timeslot, but the show did so well, it kept ER where it is and put Black Donnellys in limbo.

The main reason for me telling you this is Heroes, I could really give a crap about the other stuff. Sci Fi has also been running a few marathons, but I'm not positive when the next one is. Heroes starts up again in two weeks (January 22). You can also watch the episodes online at http://www.nbc.com/Video/rewind/full_episodes/heroes.shtml or on iTunes, but iTunes costs money, although it is a little easier to watch it.

GOLDEN GLOBES

This morning the Golden Globe nominations were announced. Unlike the years before, nearly every category is exciting and nearly every category I have more then one favorite. I've highlighted who I think should win.

BEST MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
(I've only seen one of these, Babel, and I'm really mad I can't get those 2 hours back. I've heard only good things about all the others, especially Bobby and The Departed)

BABEL
BOBBY
THE DEPARTED
LITTLE CHILDREN
THE QUEEN

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
(Yeah, haven't seen these either, but I'd love for Kate Winslet to win. Helen Mirren and Judi Dench need to move over and let some other people win)

PENÉLOPE CRUZ VOLVER
JUDI DENCH NOTES ON A SCANDAL
MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL SHERRYBABY
HELEN MIRREN THE QUEEN
KATE WINSLET LITTLE CHILDREN

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
(Leo kinda deserves it because he's been overlooked a bunch of times, but Will Smith looks like he rocks it in the previews. I also hear Forest Whitaker's performance is chilling and steals the entire movie)

LEONARDO DICAPRIO BLOOD DIAMOND
LEONARDO DICAPRIO THE DEPARTED
PETER O’TOOLE VENUS
WILL SMITH THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS
FOREST WHITAKER THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND

BEST MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL
(I really need to get out to see more movies. I used to go all the time. I saw four in one day once. At the same theatre, with my best friend. Good times. I did see Thank You for Smoking though and it was genius.)

BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
DREAMGIRLS
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE
THANK YOU FOR SMOKING

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL

BEYONCÉ KNOWLES DREAMGIRLS
MERYL STREEP THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
RENEE ZELLWEGER MISS POTTER

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL

SACHA BARON COHEN BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF
AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF
KAZAKHSTAN
JOHNNY DEPP PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST

LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA (USA/JAPAN)
THE LIVES OF OTHERS (GERMANY)
PAN’S LABYRINTH (MEXICO)
VOLVER (SPAIN)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE
(As much as Babel sucked, Adriana Barraza as the nanny was amazing! That Rinko chick, not so much. This is a hard one though because we have American Idol reject and breakout star Jennifer Hudson, who is a great underdog story, and the beautifully amazing Cate Blanchett. I'm gonna leave this one blank because it's too hard. I love it!)

ADRIANA BARRAZA BABEL
CATE BLANCHETT NOTES ON A SCANDAL
EMILY BLUNT THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
JENNIFER HUDSON DREAMGIRLS
RINKO KIKUCHI BABEL

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE
(Brad Pitt was really good in the awful movie titled Babel, and Jack Nicholson and Helen Mirren should get a room somewhere and let other people win. Something tells me this is Eddie Murphy's last hurrah. I'd love little Violet Affleck's daddy to win, but wouldn't it be great if it was Marky Mark. Maybe he'll bring his Funky Bunch)

BEN AFFLECK HOLLYWOODLAND
EDDIE MURPHY DREAMGIRLS
JACK NICHOLSON THE DEPARTED
BRAD PITT BABEL
MARK WAHLBERG THE DEPARTED

BEST DIRECTOR – MOTION PICTURE

(Scorsese just need to win an Oscar. Talk about being due. I think Clint Eastwood has something against him.)

CLINT EASTWOOD FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS
CLINT EASTWOOD LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA
STEPHEN FREARS THE QUEEN
ALEJANDRO GONZALEZ
IÑÁRRITU BABEL
MARTIN SCORSESE THE DEPARTED

GUILLERMO ARRIAGA BABEL
TODD FIELD &
TOM PERROTTA LITTLE CHILDREN
PATRICK MARBER NOTES ON A SCANDAL
WILLIAM MONAHAN THE DEPARTED
PETER MORGAN THE QUEEN

Now for the good stuff...

BEST TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA
(This is like choosing your favorite child. How could I possibly do that? I can't. Okay, maybe I can, 24. No, Grey's. No, Heroes. Damn. Overlooked again is the always amazing Battlestar Galactica)

24 (FOX)
BIG LOVE (HBO)
GREY’S ANATOMY (ABC)
HEROES (NBC)
LOST (ABC)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA
(Ellen Pompeo, hands down. Love her or leave her, she nails Meredith Grey every episode. Okay, I meant "nail" like portrays her perfectly. Perv.)

PATRICIA ARQUETTE MEDIUM
EDIE FALCO THE SOPRANOS
EVANGELINE LILLY LOST
ELLEN POMPEO GREY’S ANATOMY
KYRA SEDGWICK THE CLOSER

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA

PATRICK DEMPSEY GREY’S ANATOMY
MICHAEL C. HALL DEXTER
HUGH LAURIE HOUSE
BILL PAXTON BIG LOVE
KIEFER SUTHERLAND 24

BEST TELEVISION SERIES – COMEDY OR MUSICAL
(Guess what I don't want it to be. I'd say Ugly Betty, but everyone I know who watches The Office thinks it's amazing. I just don't have the Tivo space/time. Men in Trees anybody?)

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (ABC)
ENTOURAGE (HBO)
THE OFFICE (NBC)
UGLY BETTY (ABC)
WEEDS (SHOWTIME)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES –COMEDY OR MUSICAL

AMERICA FERRERA UGLY BETTY
FELICITY HUFFMAN DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE
MARY-LOUISE PARKER WEEDS

(I don't watch 30 Rock, have only seen a few episodes, but what I have seen Alec Baldwin is brilliant! Besides Zach Braff, I wouldn't be surprised with anyone on this list winning, they're all great.)

ALEC BALDWIN 30 ROCK
ZACH BRAFF SCRUBS
STEVE CARRELL THE OFFICE
JASON LEE MY NAME IS EARL
TONY SHALHOUB MONK

BEST MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
(Personally I don't want to watch anything called Bleak House, I may kill myself at the end. I heard Broken Trail was really good and Elizabeth I, but with Mrs. Harris, I'm voting against another Helen Mirren sweep.)

BLEAK HOUSE (PBS)
BROKEN TRAIL (AMC)
ELIZABETH I (HBO)
MRS. HARRIS (HBO)
PRIME SUSPECT: THE FINAL ACT (PBS)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

HELEN MIRREN ELIZABETH I
HELEN MIRREN PRIME SUSPECT: THE FINAL ACT
SOPHIE OKONEDO TSUNAMI, THE AFTERMATH

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
(Why does it seem like there's 50 people nominated in this category? Chiwetel Ejifor is an amazing actor, as is Andre Braugher, so I like them in this. And sweet Matthew Perry would be nice. But Michael Ealy is the pretty boy, the one you wouldn't expect to win, so I sorta want him.)

ANDRÉ BRAUGHER THIEF
ROBERT DUVALL BROKEN TRAIL
MICHAEL EALY SLEEPER CELL: AMERICAN TERROR
CHIWETEL EJIOFOR TSUNAMI, THE AFTERMATH
BEN KINGSLEY MRS. HARRIS
BILL NIGHY GIDEON’S DAUGHTER
MATTHEW PERRY THE RON CLARK STORY

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A SERIES, MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

NEWS: THE NINE GETS PULLED

I know I haven't talked about The Nine, except for my loving of the pilot a few months ago. Apparently I'm the only one, including it's network. ABC has pulled the show, effective immediately. For those of you still loyal, including me, this doesn't mean certain death. The network is saying it may return later in the season. We'll see, but I do want to know what exactly happened in there to make everyone want to help Lucas, one of the robbers, out. Hopefully ABC will take their heads out their asses (it's been up there since they put Lost on a three month hiatus) and at least let them wrap up the story lines.

NEWS: GOOD AND BLAH

Sorry for the delay in recaps, it's been a rough week. Okay, that's not true, it hasn't been rough, I've just been lazy. Lazy and beautiful, that's me. Just wanted to give you a few updates on some new stories from today, yesterday or sometime in the near past.

  • Ex-President and Mrs. Logan back on 24. Yay, the weasel and the crazy lady are back for the upcoming season of 24. I love this. I love them, and hopefully he got beat up in prison. Jack Bauer forever!

  • If you watched Smith, you and the other 10 people can see the end. CBS is not only running the last four episodes on their new streaming site Innertube (what a cool name) but they're also going to be selling it on iTunes. And if you still don't get what happens, the producers are going to write a synopsis to explain the ending. Wow, sounds compelling.

  • Men In Trees moving to Thursdays, because there's nothing else on that night. As if my Tivo didn't want to kick me in the groin already, Men In Trees will now be on opposite ER. I guess I gotta just thank the Lords of Kobol they didn't put it on Wednesdays.

  • Jericho taking a break from all its worries. Like Lost and maybe Prison Break, Jericho's having a fall finale. What that really means is they're taking the show off the air for way too many weeks then they should. The good news, like Lost, it'll come back in February with non-stop episodes until the regular finale. Thanks 24 for giving people this idea. I wish they'd execute it better and do a straight season like you do. Jack Bauer forever!

  • Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip will live a little while longer even though nobody's watching. See what happens when you win a bunch of Emmys and smoke dope? You get to run a network into the ground. Thanks Studio 60.

NEWS: CHARM SCHOOL

As if my week couldn't get any better. VH1 just announced that Mo'Nique will be hosting a show which will take 13 of past Flavor of Love girls through Charm School. Hahahaha. This is the best idea ever. And by best I mean trashiest! This show will rock because these bitches won't know what to do with themselves in charm school. My recommendations for lessons would be, wait, I was just going to name people, but really, everyone of those girls needs to go. I'm not sure if they teach class is charm school, but let's hope so. See pictures posted above and below.

NEWS: DOWN AT FRAGGLE ROCK!

OMG, so I've been watching television since before I could speak. I'm sure the early intro into my life has a lot to do with what I do now for a living. Anyway, it was announced today that one of my favorite shows as a child, that probably helped shape me into the person I am now, is being made into a movie. No, it's not You Can't Do That On Television, although that would totally rock, especially if they brought back the old characters. No, it's Fraggle Rock.

I really don't remember much about this show. Actually, I don't really remember anything about it, except that I loved it. I remember eating dinner, in this little chair my mom got me, pulling it up to the coffee table, and watching that. Memories. I'm not sure when it'll be out, but look for it. I feel like I'm 6 again. Hehe.

NEWS: ALL STARS!

Yay!!! I've been talking about this, at least in my mind, for months now. The Amazing Race is having an All Star edition. I loved the Survivor: All Stars edition, and I'm told the Big Brother one was good, even though I didn't watch it. Now, The Amazing Race will bring back those teams we loved and loved to hate. Confirmed, or so I hear, is Colin and Christy (yuck) and Charla and Mirna, the midget team. That's not fair, I know, only one of them is a midget. Hahaha, I love them! The team I think would be the most interesting and the team I'd want to kick in the mouth the most, Jonathan and Victoria, probably won't be returning. They had a baby girl about two weeks ago, and where I'm sure they're not going to be parents of the year, I doubt Victoria would want to show herself that soon post-baby. They start shooting next month, so I'm thinking the show ill be on the air late winter. I can't wait!!!

NEWS

Here's some stuff that's going on in the entertainment world today, or yesterday, or a few days ago!!!
  • Sara Evans quits Dancing with the Stars, in case anyone cares. I don't. What is interesting though is that she filed for divorce on the same day. I hope she's hooking it up with her partner. That'd be awesome. Unfortunately, looks like her husband is the one who strayed.

  • CBS drama, Criminal Minds, finds Lost numbers. Not those numbers, the Neilson numbers. I'm proud of CM, it's a good show, and Lost is losing it a bit.

  • Madonna adopts an African baby. Yeah, I got nothing funny to say about that, but it's sorta weird.
  • Paris and Nicole, friends again. Awe, I think they each missed having someone to throw up their dinners with.
  • Vince and Jen didn't break up. Oh good, because I was worried. Worried their sour puss faces would actually start to look happy again. I love Vince.
  • Charlie's Angels give you cancer. It was announced recently that Farrah Fawcett has cancer. Then today, or somewhere abouts, it was announced that her CA costar, John Forsythe also has cancer. That sucks.

NEWS

Here's some stuff that's going on in the entertainment world today, or yesterday, or a few days ago!!!

  • Heroes picked up for a full season! In case you don't know how it works, shows usually get picked up for 13 episodes and then if it does well, it'll get picked up for what's called the "back 9" which is just like it sounds. Some shows, like Kidnapped, don't get picked up for the "back 9", which is just like being cancelled. Bye bye Jeremy Sisto, you're still HOT.

  • Smith cancelled. Although I didn't watch beyond the pilot, I admired this show, as did a lot of people, including critics. As we know though, it doesn't really matter what critics say. It only matters what the Nielson box says. Bye bye Simon Baker, you're still HOT.

  • Prison Break was not cancelled. I know some of you are weeping for this, but it's been preempted for a few weeks for baseball. I was actually worried I wasn't going to see my dear Wentie for awhile, but alas, I will, in a few weeks. Yay!

  • Who Wants to Be a Superhero back on Sci Fi. Yes, in case you didn't watch this show, it was hilarious. Sci Fi just picked it up for a second season, airing ten episodes next summer. Why does this give me so much joy?

  • A two hour, two day 24 premiere. I'm so happy I could... cry. Just like last season's 2 hour, two day premiere, 24 will be back on Sunday, January 14th at 8pm with a two hour show. Then the next night they'll show two more hours starting at 8pm. Then the show will settle into it's normal Monday 9pm slot the next week, January 22nd.

  • ER back on top! Since there's no real competition against it anymore because of Without a Trace moving to Sundays, ER is back baby! Of course, is that really saying much when your competition is so awful. Actually, I shouldn't speak ill of Shark on CBS since I haven't watched it, but Six Degrees on ABC. Wow, it's so awful. Let's just be glad those executives and writers are working on that, and not frakin' up Grey's and Lost.

  • The guys at YouTube are rich. Yes, and the guys at Google are smart. Google bought out YouTube for $1.65 Billion. So for allowing people to post their own movies, the YouTube people made more money then there are people in America. In case anyone is wondering, I'm for sale too. And you don't have to spend that much on me either. I'd be happy with a cool mil. Or half a mil even. Who am I kidding, ten bucks and an ice cream from Cold Stone would do it for me.

NEWS

I'm adding a new feature to my blog, it's called News. I know that's not really catchy or anything, but it doesn't need to be, does it? It's just what's in the news for the day or week, or whenever I get around to putting it in. It'll only be TV, celebrity and sometimes movie news. You know, the real news we care about. Actually, just the news I care about, because that's what I'm here for, to tell you the things I care about. Look for the new News section to start today. As soon as something interesting happens.
