FALL TV

A few weeks ago the official fall schedule came out. Because I'm nice, I've decided to break it down for you. I won't bore you with the awful stuff, like Six Degrees, or Vanished (which has already started). I'm going to give you what's premiering in the next month or two that I'm watching or Tivo'ing. Oh, and of course the picture feature on blogger's not working, or else I would grace you with pictures of the lovely Tim Daly from The Nine. Yummy.

Mondays

Prison Break (FOX)
The show actually just started last week, and I'm working on my two episode recap as we speak, but the guys are finally out. Maybe they'll make it to LA. :-) Aug. 21

Heroes (NBC)
I was lucky enough to see this a few months ago and I have to say, I really like it. They have a few kinks to work out with some characters, but I'm definitely interested in seeing where it goes and how their powers evolve. Sept. 25

Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip (NBC)
I'm hearing good things about this, although some people are telling me that if you don't work int he industry in LA you won't get it. Let's hope not because I love Matthew Perry. Sept. 18

Tuesdays

Friday Night Lights (NBC)
If you saw the movie, and liked it, you'll love this show. It's EXACTLY like the movie. And when I say EXACTLY I mean right down to the music, hand holding and sweet talkin' Texan footballers. Oct. 3

The Unit (CBS)
I know this isn't a new show, but if you didn't watch it last season, you gotta see it this one. It'll start out right after a shoot out in a restaurant with the guys and their wives. Sept. 19

Standoff (FOX)
I don't know much about this, but it has a stellar cast, lead by Burger from Sex and the City, Ron Livingston. That's enough to pull me into the first episode. Sept. 5

Smith (CBS)
Again, don't know much about it, except Simon Baker's in it and it seems very mysterious. I'll definitely give it a go when it premieres in a few weeks. Sept. 19

Wednesdays

Jericho (CBS)
Another one I was able to see a few months ago. I wasn't jumping up and down, but I definitely want to watch the second episodes about a town left maybe alone in the world after supposed nuclear war. Sept. 20

20 Good Years (NBC)
Oddly enough I saw the pilot episode on the plane coming back from the East Coast last weekend and it's very cute. John Lithgow and Jeffrey Tambor are two best friends who decide to throw caution to the wind since they only have 20 or so good years left in life. Very cute. Oct. 4

30 Rock (NBC)
This looks absolutely hilarious, following what happens back stage during a television show. Tina Fey wrote and stars in it and she's just hilarious, so I'm looking forward to it. Oct 11

America's Next Top Model (CW)
I may have to forgo one of the ones above to watch Top Model, which starts its 7th season . Tyra Mail! Sept. 20

LOST (ABC)
Of course, why would I ever not watch this show. Unless they killed off Sawyer, then we may have a problem. Oct 4

Day Break (ABC)
I have this sitting on my desk and can't bring myself to watch it. The idiots in charge of scheduling at ABC have decided to pull LOST after just 6 weeks of show and show weeks and weeks of this show. It better be good or I'll be pissed. Nov. 11

Justice (FOX)
This show started this week and I didn't catch it, will on rerun, but it looked good. Victor Garber has a job, which is nice, he was so good on Alias. Aug. 30

Kidnapped (NBC)
This is why Vanished is so awful, because this show, about a kidnapped boy is SSSOOO much better. Sept. 20

THE NINE (ABC)
The reason I put this all in caps, and made it a bigger is because this is the show that will blow them all out of the water. If you watch any new show this season, WATCH THIS. It's about 9 people who are in a bank when it gets robbed and... actually I can't explain it. I haven't seen a pilot this good since LOST. Yes, I said it. Oct. 4

Thursdays

My Name Is Earl (NBC)
You all know the reason to watch this show, it's just THAT funny. Sept. 21

Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
Yes, that says Grey's Anatomy. The show was moved to Thursday night so please please please remember it. Sept. 21

Supernatural (CW)
Maybe I'll be able to finally catch up on this. It's on at such a bad time. Too many shows! Sept. 28

ER (NBC)
John Stamos has joined the cast. Do I really need to say anything else? Sept. 21

Fridays

Ugly Betty (ABC)
The show stars the chick from Fat Girls Wear Clothes. No, that's not the name of it. Real Women Have Curves. Yeah. The show looks hilarious, and I've only heard good things. Sept. 22

Ghost Whisperer (CBS)
I really like this show, and some crazy shite happened in the season finale a few months ago. Sept. 22

Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi)
Look, I know some of you people don't like Sci Fi, but you need to just shut the hell up and watch it. If you think you won't know what's going on, there's a recap show that's going to be airing a bunch, as well as on iTunes that'll catch you up so you can't complain about why you don't watch what Rolling Stone calls the best show on television that won a Peabody Award. Oct 6

Saturdays
This is kinda cool, NBC will re-air one of its dramas. I'm thinking it'll be Friday Nights Lights.

Sundays

The Amazing Race (CBS)
I think this is such a smart move on their part. Not only airing it at 8pm, but airing it on Sundays, a night that generally doesn't have anything Earth shattering on, except The Simpsons and Extreme Makeover, which repeat constantly. Sept. 17

Desperate Housewives (ABC)
Yes, I'm going to give it another chance. Since the creator is back as the head writer, I'm confident the stories will get better, but I'm not holding my breath. Sept. 24

I HAVE NO BLOG

I just had to vent my frustration with blogger right now. For some odd reason, I can not sign on. I'm sure this is confusing to you now, especially since you're currently reading one of my posts. Well, I created a whole new blog and called it "blah blah blah" and was able to sign in through that and then get into my blog that way. I am so smart. Really, I'm smart. Anyway, since it's the end of the day I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep this up for long, or write anything in the meantime. I had some great things to say too. Please know that I love you all and am trying my hardest (with no help from anyone in blogger support) to figure out what the heck is wrong with the site. Meanwhile, here's this to make you feel better, for now. It sure did me.

SURVIVOR'S RACIST

For those of you who haven't heard, Survivor is trying something "different" this season. Dividing the tribes by gender and age didn't stir the pot enough, so they think dividing them by race will. I am so infuriated at this I don't know what to do with myself. At first I didn't think much of it, now I'm just pissed.

The tribes are being divided into four groups, African-American, White, Asian-American, and Hispanic-American. Eventually they will merge, like the age teams from last year, but until then, America will root for a particular race, hoping another race fails miserably. Race is such a hot issue in America, I don't think creating a competition show where people will be hoping that one race doesn't make it, and that the stereotypes are promoted, is a good thing.

The reply I've seen from Mark Burnett's (the executive producer) company is that they've gotten flak for not casting a lot of ethnicities in the past, and they want this to be a sign that they are starting to see that diversity is good. First of all, why don't they just cast some ethnic people? Why do they have to make it all controversial? Secondly, the ethnic people they do cast are all idiots, lazy or follow some sort of stereotype. In all of his shows. Granted, there have been a few exception, like Cirie from last season, but even then she had never been camping and freaked out for the first few days until she got used to it.

Rooting for the women to kick butt it one thing, but rooting for the black people or Hispanic people to lose is just not cool. And how did they cast it? Are the black people lazy (like they normally cast it) and the Asian-Americans really smart? The only way this will ever be okay with me if they cast it completely against stereotypes, so that the backward ass people in America won't be getting any reinforcements of how "blacks" or any other races act.

AM I REALLY WATCHING THIS?

Sometimes even I wonder if I'm crazy. Some people think I'm crazy because I watch so much television. I, on the other hand, think I'm crazy because I watch Flavor of Love. I don't know what it is about this show, but I'm addicted. It's Tivo'd and I get excited to see what's happening with the girls, and Flav. I'm not saying I'm not deeply offended by the overt misogyny, because I am, sorta. I don't know. The women are gross representations of how women act, and really, are they in love with Flav. God love him he's ugly. Really ugly. One thing I can say for him though is he's sincere. I know this sounds crazy, and I would even question myself if I had said it before I watched the show, but I think he truly wants to find love and is giving these girls real chances to show him they care. Plus, he listens to them with their complaints, watches tapes back to get the real story, everything The Bachelor doesn't do and you wish he/she did. You want to scream at them and say, "Just watch the tape and you'll see he/she's a lying whore." Yet, they never do. Flav does though.

And these women, it's really like watching a car wreck. They're all strippers, which we find out that Flav doesn't mind. In fact, Toastee was accused of being a porn star by Nibblz, whose name should be Nipples because she wears shirts that show off her Nibblz, I mean nipples. But we have to know the reason Nibblz tells on Toastee is the night before they slept in Flav's bed and Toastee told everyone he heard Nibblz, ah, er, um, helpin' Flav out if you know what I mean. Of course Nibblz denies this. Flav told the girls that he was going to do some research on the Internet and figure out who was lying, Toastee who said she hadn't done porn, or Nibblz. During elimination, Flav shows us his findings. Although, we can't see them because the entire picture he holds up is blurred. Toastee really was a porn star. Flav said that it's not the fact that she was a porn star, obviously, but the fact that she lied about it. When she was crying to the camera she tells us she doesn't even really count that photo spread. We know why too, slyly some of the girls spill what was on the picture. Toastee, having a good time with Toastee, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, this show is one I just can't stop watching. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, you should try to. I don't think it's for everybody, and quite honestly, if you haven't watched it from the beginning and realized what kind of women poor Flav is dealing with, you might just take it for the disgusting woman bashing racist piece of crap it is.

AND THE EMMY GOES TO...

Me. Just joking. Unfortunately, while the Emmys were going on, I was on a plane flying 3000 miles back to LA. I Tivo'd the show, but what's the point really? Once you've missed it, and can't talk about it the next day, you're pretty much out of the loop. I was able to catch the best awards, for Best Drama and Best Comedy Series. You know what won for Best Drama? Do you? DO YOU!?!? 24, baby!!! And really, are we surprised. Actually, I'm very surprised. I didn't think anyone appreciated this amazing show, but me, my roommate and best friend. To top it off, Kiefer also won for Best Actor in a Drama. The Gods were smiling down on us, and I missed it!!! What the hell? Also, I wanted to upload some pics from it but it's not working and I don't have patience to wait. Although, my girl crush, Katherine Heigl, was looking stellar.
