HEROES FOR SURE

When I first watched the Heroes pilot a few months ago I was like, eh, whatever. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong. Wait, maybe "good" isn't the right word. It was intriguing. Yeah, that's what it was. I'm a big X-Men, Spiderman, Superman fan and when I think "heroes" that's who I think about. I would love for there to be an X-Men live action show on television, and I was hoping this would be it.

The first show was all about establishing these characters. We have a heroine addict that paints the future, a stripper who has some sort of alter ego, a cheerleader who's invincible, a guy who can fly, and an Asian guy who can teleport. We also have a professor that's investigating the death of his father. His father was researching a way to track these people who have powers. Also in the mix is some sinister looking guy that has been following the professor and who happens to be the cheerleader's father. Okay, reading that back that actually sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the first episode showed very little of their powers, which is all I was waiting for.

Then, something magical happened. In the middle of the last (second) episode, shite started to come together. Greg Grunberg, who we know and love from Alias, plays a cop. He showed up and things started to get better. His power is he hears people's thoughts. There's a serial killer loose and he struck again. Greg is just a patrol cop, but when the victim's child is missing, he hears her crying in his head, from a crawl space. He thought everyone could hear her so it makes the FBI a little suspicious. When he speaks to them he says things only they (or the killer) would know because he's reading their thoughts. They arrest him.

My biggest complaint about the show is no one believes these people. I mean, truly, if someone you knew told you they could paint the future, it'd be a little hard to believe. But when they showed you a picture they painted three weeks ago that matched something that happened just yesterday, you'd think you'd try to believe them. That's what's going on with the painter. The painter, Isaac, even painted what looked like the end of the world. New York in a ball of fire. He then tried to kill himself. From the end of the pilot it looked like he did die, but then in the second episode we realize his high class girlfriend just let him sleep it off. Um, ok. She's not very supportive, even with all the evidence.

Claire is a cheerleader in Odessa, Texas. Which is awesome because the movie, Friday Night Lights is set there. Anyway, she recruits some reject to video tape her trying to kill herself. She can't though because she's invincible. She pulls some guy out of a burning train and they come looking for her at school. Some dumb girl who's supposedly her best friend or something, claims it was her who did it, because she's a jealous biatch. She doesn't know it was Claire who did it, but she gets commended for doing it. Claire's reject friend, Zach, approaches her and tells her that the tape of her trying to kill herself all those times was stolen. They're both nervous about what could happened. At home, she's asked her father if she could research who her birth parents are. She doesn't tell him about the powers. Turns out though that her father is up to no good. In fact, later that night he tells her he's started the process to try and find her birth parents, and when she leaves the room, he plays the tape of her Zach lost. I'm not convinced he's all bad, but they're definitely setting him up to be.

Niki's a stripper. Wow. She actually strips on the Internet, so that's a little better. She has a kid, Micah, who's just adorable. Anyway, Niki owes people some money or something and when they don't get it they come after her. She's been spooked lately anyway because sometimes the imagine in the mirror looks at her funny or doesn't follow her normally. Anyway, these guys start to make her strip and plan bad things for her and she has a black out moment. When she wakes up the guys are dead. Driving in her car later to pick up her son she watches the video from her camera of when she killed the guys. Next thing she knows she's in the car in a clean outfit and it's probably been awhile. We find out it's been four hours. She gets her kid and goes home where, I bet you didn't call this, the garage she killed the guys in is all clean. The bodies are in the trunk of some car that she doesn't know but's registered to her. The bodies and a map leading to a spot in the desert where she's supposed to bury the bodies. I'm thinking I'd want my alter ego to take care of this part. She realizes there are other bodies in the ditch, probably from another killing spree she went on. Very Fight Club.

Peter's brother Nathan is running for some office, I think it's the Senate. Peter's the black sheep type, embarrassment to his brother. Peter also thinks he can fly. We think he may be able to fly too because Isaac painted a picture of him flying. He calls his older brother Nathan to watch him jump off the building and as he does his swan dive down, Nathan flies up and catches him. Next thing he knows he ends up in the hospital with Nathan trying to convince him that he fell onto a nearby landing and didn't get hurt because he was flying. Peter doesn't want to leave this alone though and invites Nathan back to a roof to make him fly to save him again. Nathan finally admits that he can fly, but he also admits that Peter can fly too. Peter doesn't believe him until he walks towards his brother from the ledge, without having to step down. So he's levitating above the rooftop. It's kinda bad ass.

The one non-Hero (we think) protagonist, Mohinder, is investigating what happened to his father, the researcher who was trying to find a way to track all of these people who had powers. Mohinder knows there's something up with what happened to his father because he found some mysterious guy, Claire's father it turns out, in his father's apartment. Again, in his own apartment he found some guy who pulled a gun on him. The guy got away and Mohinder wasn't hurt, but he met his neighbor and started a friendship with her. Mohinder's father and this chick were friends and she apparently told him about his research. She's helping Mohinder find out what happened. I can't say I trust her completely. They come up with the name Sylar, someone he knew his father spoke to from time to time, that's also who the FBI is investigating for all of the recent murders, like the one Greg Grunberg was at. He's some mad man.

Hiro is a cute little guy who can teleport. In fact, he teleports all the way to New York from Japan. He goes around the city and while he's walking around he spots a comic book. He's on the cover of the comic book. He begins reading it and realizes it's verbatim what happened to him that day while in Japan. He looks at the writer's name and address and it's Isaac's. Curious, Hiro makes his way there. When he goes there it's not like how I remember it from earlier. Especially since a dead Isaac with the top of his head cut off is there. In fact, that's the way this Sylar guy kills people too. There's a gun on the floor and Hiro picks it up. At this point I'm screaming at the television for him to throw it down. Of course the cops come in at this moment and almost shoot the poor guy.

He's trying to tell them what's going on but with the few words he knows of English it's not working out very well. Eventually a translator shows up and to prove his story, Hiro tells him to call his buddy, he can tell them he was in Japan earlier that day. They're still not buying this teleportation thing. They get the friend on the phone and he says no, he hasn't seen Hiro. In fact, Hiro's been missing for five weeks. They tell that to Hiro and he says that no, it's October 2nd (which it totally was when this played). The cops show him the paper, which is coincidentally announcing Nathan's win of the Senate seat or whatever. It's November 8th, not October 2nd. He's accidently teleporter way into the future. Suddenly, there's a loud boom and everyone looks out the window. It's a nuclear holocaust and right before the cloud gets to them, Hiro closes his eyes and teleports his ass out of there. Bad ass!!!

I'm ALL IN. Plus, the previews for next week look amazing. They start realizing there's a connection, which was also my fear, that it would take forever for them to come together. We see Peter at Isaac's and he's looking at a bunch of paintings lined up. It's of all our Heroes and he points to Claire and says something that made me believe he's starting to figure out what's going on. There are some other flashes and the one I really remember is either Peter or Nathan levitating. I can't wait!! Yay!

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA premieres, Friday, October 6th 9-11pm

As you all know, I don't recap Battlestar Galactica (BSG). Most of you probably know the reason I don't talk about it, but for the record, it is probably one of the best, smartest, most socially relevant shows out there. Tonight is the 2 hour premiere on Sci Fi and for those of you who don't watch it, you may want to check it out.

The basics...

Most of the human race, based on 12 different colonies (planets) were annihilated in a nuclear holocaust by the Cylons. Cylons are man made robots who they thought they banished 40 years before, but are now back and badder then ever. They're not just chrome toasters anymore, some of them look like humans. The 13th colony, Earth, is where the rag tag fleet is heading, with the Cylons hot on their heels.

The humans here believe in many Gods, as the Cylons believe there is one true God, who are guiding them through life. Each human-like Cylon has many copies, and when they die, if there's a resurrection ship around, they'll be reborn into another body which they call "downloading". There are only 7 known Cylon human-like models, another 5 exist, but we're not 100% sure who they are. They could be anyone.

At the end of the last season, the humans, called colonials, have finally found a home, on a planet called New Caprica. They think they're safe from the Cylons and set up camp. Unfortunately, the Cylons have found them, and in the last moments, were marching through town, Nazi-like, about to take over. Some of the fleet was still in orbit, including Admiral Adama and his son, Apollo, who is commander of another Battlestar, Pegasus. They jumped out with the hope of coming back at some point to rescue the thousands of people who settled on New Caprica and are not presumed prisoners of the Cylons.

There are way too many characters to talk about, but this show some have called "The West Wing" in space. I don't think that's a really fair statement. Battlestar is its own show, and it's not about space and aliens, and flying saucers. It's about politics, revenge, love, the military. Just about everything good about shows with all of that can be found in this show. And the writing is amazing, with catch phrases like "Frak" and "So Say We All" and my personal favorite, "The Lords of Kobol".

If you haven't seen any of the show, there are tons of ways to catch up, including a show called Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far which is available for download on iTunes. If you don't get a chance to catch up with that, the show is easier then most people think to jump in, especially at the beginning of the season. See, they do this cool thing called "Previously On" before each episode that will catch you up. Trust me, it's worth it.

SLUTTY STRIPPERS

How happy was I that the show I know and love came back full force last Thursday. I know, the season started the week before, but I'd like to not count that show. It was a filler, meant to catch people up on what happened. I'm also going to forget about the bad acting job of the lovely Chandra Wilson and chalk it up to postpartum depression. And the return of one of the hottest characters ever. Sadly it's not Denny, but...

We start out with Derek and Meredith in the elevator. Derek's not trying to hide this whole adultery thing at all, smelling Meredith's hair. We know from last season that he loves the smell of her hair. How she doesn't melt right into the elevator floor with him behind her smelling her I just don't know. I'd be naked by the time the elevator doors opened.

Unfortunately Izzie's not having that great a time. In fact, my girl crush is baking. Baking a lot. She's made like 400 muffins. Man, if I were her roommate I'd want her to be making some brownies. I'm talkin' to you, Allison!

You know who things are going well for? Dr. Burke. Cristina comes into the room, closes the door and the shades and strips down to some cute undies. They can't be comfortable for being on your feet for 20+ hours at the hospital, but I'll go with it. She tells him that even though he can't touch her (because of the surgery he had a few days ago on his hand) he can still enjoy it. She's such a great girlfriend. They start having a good time when his parents walk in. Mamma. Cristina quickly ducks and covers, but it's too late, Mamma already thinks she's a slut. Can we talk about Mamma? She's Diahann Carroll and dad is none other than Shaft himself, Richard Roundtree. "You're a bad mother- shut your mouth! I'm talkin' bout SHAFT!" Cristina's pissed at the nurse who was supposed to be watching the room. Some guy coded so he had to go save him. Excuses excuses.

Cristina and Meredith talk about what happened, seems everyone knows about her being a slutty stripper. Cristina doesn't think Meredith should judge since she's sleeping with two men. Meredith's my hero. They talk about Meredith having to make a decision between Finn and Derek and if she doesn't know by the end of the day, she'll flip a coin. Bailey's not too happy about the whole slutty stripper thing.

"I know what you did last summer"

Addison shows up in the Chief's office, er, bedroom. Since Adele's ultimatum he's been spending his nights in his office. Addison's not looking too good. Finding another woman's panties in your husband's tux will do that to a woman. She tells Richard that her marriage is over and she's going to spend the day drinking. I hope she's not spending it working too, that would suck. You know, because she's a surgeon, and you don't want to get operated on... nevermind.

The crew gets its first patient. Some lady who looks familiar. She has lung cancer and hasn't really accepted it yet. Well, she has and decided she's going to live life to the fullest. She's ordered a bunch of cakes from a bakery cause I guess having cancer makes you hungry. I need to go to the doctors. Because she's eaten, they'll have to reschedule her surgery. As the group walks down the hall, George tries to talk to Bailey but she snips something cute and Alex tells her that they want her to talk to the Chief about Izzie. George says she's baking, a lot, and that her talents could be better spent. Like in a tight doctor's shirt. Bailey doesn't want to hear it.

The next patient is hilarious. He has a brain tumor. Okay, that part's not funny. What is it, cancer day at Seattle Grace? Anyway, because of his tumor he says whatever's on his mind. He thinks his sister's fat and sweaty, and he thinks Cristina has a pinched, uptight look about her. He not only says what's on his mind, he's also clairvoyant. He also figures out that Derek and Meredith are doing the deed.

"Who-"

Bailey's pissed, for a number of reasons, mostly I think because she can't control her interns. Not sure if controlling their personal lives is what she's supposed to do , but she really wants to. As she's talking to them, she notices Meredith's panties. Remember the ones Addy hung on the wall last episode. Well everyone's just getting around to noticing them. Callie's there too and when Bailey angrily presses them to tell her who they belong to, Callie steps forward and says they're hers. George is surprised and not too happy about that.

"I'm angry!"

Bailey hands out the assignments, gives Alex the pit and Meredith charts to do. She's not too happy with them. She tells them to try and not kill anyone. I don't know how they're going to avoid that. They're not GOD for Christsake. Sorry, didn't meant to be blasphemous twice in one sentence. As they're walking away, Cristina tells the others how the "Nazi" is back. If you remember, that's what people used to call Bailey before she went sorta soft in the second season. Anyway, Mamma ends up hearing this and doesn't like it. Cristina tries to cover, but not very well. Then Derek comes by because Cristina's working with him on the brain tumor guy. Mamma asks Derek if she can borrow Cristina for a minute, because she wants to have a coffee in the cafeteria. This is way too scary for Cristina and she tries to get out of it, but can't.

When Derek sees Meredith he chases after her into the stairway. She's still confused, seeing he's married, and said all those great things to her. He's quite surprised about the panties on the wall but Meredith continues that she doesn't like being so confused. He tells her to take her time in choosing. He tells her he's going to leave Addy, but she's a bit hesitant, although he says it's true this time. Callie walks in on them, again.

"Watch your mouth"

When Cristina goes to Burke's room, Shaft's reading the paper. She wants Burke to help her get his mamma away from her. Shaft just listens as Cristina walks away, wanting Burke to come help her. He gives Burke a little smile.

Derek goes to Richard to talk to ask him if he's seen Addy. Richard tells him that Addy found the undies in his pocket, and Derek's surprised. Richard wants to help him, since he knows about having affairs, and having them with Grey women. Derek insists that it's not an affair, that he was going to end it with Addison.

Meredith's taking blood from the brain tumor guy and he's being all honest and what not. His sister doesn't like it, but Meredith think it's refreshing. Then he asks her if she's sleeping with the brain surgeon. She says no, that she hasn't done it today. What's taking her so long? I'd certainly be testing the merchandise out before I bought it. Brain tumor guy tells her that Derek is hot, and he would be hooking up with him if he could.

George has finally decided to confront Callie about the panties. Meredith overhears the conversation, wondering if Callie's going to spill the beans to George. He's clearly jealous and he tries to deny it, like every man does. Before he can get anymore info out of him, the lung cancer lady rides by having a wheelchair race. He runs after her and Meredith thinks Callie should just tell him they are hers. Callie won't think of it, she likes George being jealous.

That'll leave a mark

The weirdest case I've ever seen comes in. Callie and Alex are talking on their way to the ambulance bay and he's surprised about her and George. Bailey comes by and reprimands Alex for talking to Callie like that. When Callie tries to let it go, Bailey gets all in Alex's face. He doesn't let that go and says that he doesn't know why Bailey won't talk to Izzie. Bailey ignore him and they go to the patients. It's some kid who was street luging and lost control and got impaled by a tree. The tree's still in him and he's gnarly. When the guy's father shows up, he's yelling at the kid about messing up. Alex tries to control the guy but he ends up pushing him into the wall and his nose bleeds. Bailey flips out again and tells Alex to not defend his "girlfriend". She has issues.

"I'm still angry, but gorgeous"

Cristina's finally made it to coffee with Mamma. Unfortunately Mamma's got different ideas of what she wants out of Cristina. When Cristina says she's a surgical intern Mamma says that when they get married, she won't be working as a surgeon. Very 1950s June Clever stuff. Burke shows up, much to Cristina's excitement, but Mamma doesn't like that he's out of bed, that he shouldn't be out of bed. When he goes to grab a coffee, Mamma tells Cristina that she's selfish. She's got ya there sista. She said she pulled him out of his sickbed so that she wouldn't feel uncomfortable alone with her and that's selfish. That Burke is giving and she's selfish, and things can't last that long that way. Burke comes back and Cristina feels like crap.

Everyone's decided to watch the tree surgery because really, it's interesting. Cristina and Meredith are talking about Mamma when George comes in. Cristina wants to tell Mamma what she really thinks, and Meredith's been inspired by brain tumor guy. She thinks everyone should just say what they feel. George isn't really paying attention to this though, he's still thinking about those black panties and Callie. He wants to know if women have two sets. Actually, this is a great question. Every woman has two sets. The grandma panties you wear when you just don't care, and the sexy ones you wear on a date when you think you might get lucky. Meredith then announces that she's choosing Derek.

George eventually leaves and finds the lung cancer lady's leaving the hospital. She doesn't want to possibly die on the operating table. She wants to live her life to the fullest. George tells her that it's a 60% chance of survival. Personally I think these odds are good, since it's a 100% chance of death if you don't do anything. The woman doesn't want to do it though and against George's pleading, leaves.

Since it's Meredith's turn to check on Izzie, she goes home and sees the 15,000 muffins she's baked. She's looking for Izzie but she's not there. Finn shows up though. He didn't know Meredith would be there, he just brought Izzie lunch. He tells her that when his wife died, food was the only thing that seemed to make him feel better. So Finn showed up, when he didn't think Meredith would be there, to make her friend feel better. Brownie points!

Bailey steps out of surgery for a minute to talk to the tree boy's father. She tells him that he's stable, for now, but that the tree's still in him. The father's obviously upset, and he's still waiting for the kid's mother to get there.

"I still know!"

Izzie's ventured out of the house, to Joe's. She brings him a whole bunch of muffins. She could totally sell them and make a good profit, they look delicious. Addy comes out of the bathroom or something, completely drunk. She talks to Izzie a bit, about her slutty friend Meredith. Izzie's not a fan of conversation at the moment and leaves.

Cristina's standing outside of Burke's room, mulling over what Mamma told her. Meredith shows up and says she's picking Finn. Okay, I get why Finn is a great catch, I do. But she LOVES Derek. Are we forgetting about that? She loves him. Wouldn't you want to choose the one you love and not the one you just like and maybe can love? Cristina heads off to surgery and Meredith catches George flirting with a nurse. He thinks that if "Callie can do it" so can he.

As she's examining the brain tumor guy, Cristina gets the third degree from him. He's just saying what's on his mind. He wonders if she has a boyfriend, she says yes and he figures out that she's mad. She finally admits to the whole Mamma thing. Brain tumor guy admits that he had a boyfriend whose mother didn't like him either, but the boyfriend promised he didn't care. Of course, he ended up caring what she thought and they broke up.

Alex, Miranda and Richard are still in performing the surgery for the tree boy and Alex puts in a few Izzie digs. They finally get to the point they can take the tree out. Unfortunately, his stats start to fall because, you know, he had a tree through him and all. Cristina and Derek are operating on the brain tumor guy and he also starts to crash too. Uh oh!

Next thing we see, Miranda's in the bar with Addy. She's still drunk, complaining about Meredith still, and how she (Addy) is attractive. Yeah, she's good enough, strong enough, and doggone it people like her. Joe comes over and says he got a cab for her, like she asked, earlier when she was sober. What happened to the tree boy? And the brain tumor guy? I need to know!
George and Meredith are there. They're playing darts. At least, that's what George is trying to do while flirting with that same nurse. He's not a good shot though, and Meredith tries to tell him that Callie's a sexy wonderful, sorta dirty girl that he should be with. He throws a dart and it nearly hits the object of his flirtation. Hey, she shouldn't be sitting so close to the dart board. When George leaves to go get Callie, we assume, Cristina shows up. Meredith decides it's time for her to flip the coin. She does, but we don't know what the the result is. Cristina can't believe she's going to choose like that and Meredith says she's just going to take a page out of the brain tumor guy's book. Too bad the brain tumor guy died. Meredith's hurt, and Cristina is too. Cristina reminds her that he wasn't impulsive, he was sick and brain damaged. Ouch.

After Addy leaves, Bailey sees the tree boy's father drinking at the bar. She goes to him and wonders what he's doing there. See, his son LIVED! Yay! Everybody didn't die! He says that he let him go off with his friends because since he got a divorce, he hasn't been as hard on him as he used to be, let things slide, and that it's his fault this happened to him. Bailey's listening, very intently.

Also in the bar is Alex. He's sitting near the lung cancer lady who's trying every drink in the bar. She and Alex start talking and she's flirting because truly, who wouldn't? She then says that she's going to the ladies room, and he can meet her in there if he wants to. He thinks about it as she walks away and then follows. When he comes out a bit later, Bailey approaches him and wants to talk about what happened. He says that she's right, he shouldn't get physical with a patient. Of course that's not what she was talking about, but he just smiles and walks away. The lung cancer lady comes out of the bathroom, fixes herself up and tells Bailey to schedule the surgery. Nice.

Next we see Callie, in her little dungeon, jamming away in some cute little pink undies. I think they're the same ones she wore when she peed in front of the girls last season. Anyway, because she's in the hospital basement and she doesn't have real doors going to her bedroom, the Chief walks by and sees her. He goes in and wonders what she's doing.

Meredith's at Joe's by herself, and in walks Finn. Crap, did she choose him? Oh wait, no, there's McDreamy. She tells them how much she likes them both and they think she's made her decision. Well, sorta. She says she's going to do it like a normal person would figure out who they like. A normal whore. She's going to date both of them and then make her decision. I actually like this idea, a lot. They both agree to it she leaves. I would have taken McDreamy home with me. You know, under the guise of testing him out.

She could have put on some pants

In the basement, Callie and the Chief are having some coffee and talking about their situations and he wants her to not live there anymore. She points out that he's living in his office. True dat. As they're talking, laughing, George walks in, with flowers. We know what he's thinking when he sees them together and runs out. Callie finds George outside, laying sadly on the bench. She tells him that the panties weren't hers and the jealous thing is really hot. He likes this.

Cristina goes to visit Burke, but his Mamma is in there, helping him stretch his hands or something. She looks up at Cristina and isn't too happy she's there. Not really in a rude way, but knowing Burke needs his rest. Cristina says she was just checking to see if either one of them needed anything before she left. This obviously surprises them both. She says no and Cristina leaves. On her way out she runs into Shaft. He just smiles at her and tells her to "hang in there". I love Shaft. Hahaha, the guy.

At the house, George and Meredith show up. Callie's there too with some luggage. Izzie's still baking away. Suddenly, from behind George and Callie, Bailey says, "Izzie?" They part and then leave so Bailey and Izzie can talk. Oh, Callie has a cute lady bug bag. I totally want that. Anyway, Bailey tells Izzie that she had a baby, got soft, and stopped teaching her when she needed her the most. Izzie tells her that she couldn't have stopped her. Bailey disagrees and says that yeah, Izzie couldn't have stopped herself, but Bailey could have stopped her and in the past she would have. Bailey tells her it's partially her fault what happened and that she's going to come back, and they're going to talk to the Chief and work something out, because Izzie's talented and capable, and we all make mistakes. Izzie just stands there with the mixing spoon in her hand and Bailey forces it out of her hand. Very touching moment.

Finally, Derek confronts Addison. She's at the Ritz or something. She looks surprised to see him. He says how sorry he is for the prom, and the panties, all of that stuff. She says she's sorry too. He tells her their marriage is over and it's all his fault. She just continues drinking her champagne and lets him unload. Suddenly the door of the bathroom opens and steam comes out. No, not that steam, McSteamy! He's wrapping a towel around his amazing, gorgeous, beautiful body and looks up and sees Derek sitting there, completely caught off guard. Derek looks at Addison, takes her champagne out of her hand, drinks it and tells her he doesn't feel as bad now. Haha.

LOST IN EMOTION

Okay, I tried, I really did. I tried for four months to write a good, concise recap of the last few episodes of LOST that I missed recapping. For some reason my fingers couldn't do it. I think maybe it was because it was so intense it was hard to write EVERYTHING that happened without losing stuff. So, in the vein of VH1's Best Week Ever's rap wrap-up thingy they do at the end of the program. Okay, so the nitty gritty of it, as short as I can make it...

Eko and Locke go out on a walkabout of sorts and with the help of Eko's dead brother, find another hatch. Inside is some sort of observation room, and Locke gets upset because he thought he was pushing the button for some God-like reason, and really, it's just been an experiment. In fact, the person is sending notes back to "headquarters" apparently through one of those bank tubby things. To Eko though, this has another effect, and he realizes that now they have to push the button. They also discover some sort print out, dot matrix no less, that has numbers, but not the infamous numbers. We'll find out a bit later what they're about. Oh, and they find another part of the Orientation video that talks about that station being an observation station.

Everyone's reeling from the fact that Ana-Lucia and Libby are dead. It took Libby awhile to die, and she tried to name Michael as the shooter, but no one got it. Hurley is pissed enough, that even though he originally said he didn't want to go, he's now going to head with the group to get Walt, and seek revenge for Libby's death. Michael, as much as we love him, is on a whole other mission. We find out from the lovely flashbacks that the Others found him when he went looking for Walt a few weeks before. Island time remember. He even saw Rousseau's daughter, Alex. Miss Klugh, the head Others lady, told him he could get Walt back if he brought some people, no more, no less, back to them. She gives him a list. He of course agreed because this is his son. While in captivity, he saw Walt just for a minute and he told Michael that they aren't who they say they are. He agrees to get everyone on the list, Hurley, Jack, Sawyer and Kate, and that if he does, he'll get Walt AND the boat. Miss Klugh agrees.

Sayid wants to go, but unfortunately he's not on Michael's list, so Michael doesn't want him to go. This arouses some suspicion in no one but Sayid. He tells Jack that something else is going on and he think he should take the boat and go with them.

Yeah, huh? What'd you just say?

Oh yeah, the boat. A boat showed up and come to find out, Desmond, who we love, was on it. When he ran away from the hatch early in the 2nd season, he got on this boat and tried to leave, but unfortunately there's something eerie on the island and he wasn't able to sail away.

Eko has a flashback where he's a priest, about to leave, when he gets assigned a story of a girl who apparently drowned and then came back to life. It could be a miracle, so the church has to research it. He does some research and the girl's father doesn't want her talking about it. Her father turns out to be the psychic that sent Claire to Los Angeles, ultimately sending her to the island so she wouldn't give Aaron up. At the airport, when Eko's leaving Australia, the drowning chick comes to him, says she saw his brother, Yemi, and that he said he was a good man, he was just searching for his faith, or something like that.

Claire and Charlie sorta make up when Charlie gives her the vaccine injection stuff that fell out of the sky. Of course, we don't know what the injection is for, but he tells her to use it for her and Aaron. At some point Charlie even finds Sawyer's stash, some of the Virgin Mary heroine statues. To get over his addiction he then does something just as stupid as when Hurley and Libby threw away all that food... he starts chucking the VM statues into the ocean. What the hell, they're using that for MEDICINE. So selfish these people.

Sawyer and Jack have a bonding moment over the guns, talking about Libby and Ana-Lucia. Sawyer blurts out that he screwed her. Thank the lord I knew he's talking about Ana. Jack's not too quick on the uptake, until Sawyer says that's how she got his gun. Not that gun, the other gun, the one that ended up killing her. Jack wonders why Sawyer is telling him this, and he says because Jack's the closest thing he has to a friend. Ah, sweet moment, kinda like the one last season finale where Sawyer told him he saw he dad in a bar who told him what a good man Jack was.

The other flashback is Desmond's. He's in prison, gets out, some old dude tells him to stay away from his daughter, Penny. They must have had some sordid love affair and now the dad doesn't want the daughter involved with the lower class Desmond. Classic.

Desmond decides to win her back by racing around the world. He goes to America where he meets up with Jack at the stadium. Penny's there, and Desmond wonders how she found him. She says that with enough money, you can find anyone. He's hurt though, he knows she's going to be marrying someone else. She wonders if he read the book he always carries with him and he says no. Later, he meets up with a brown haired Libby. They talk, her husband just died (I guess that's what makes her go koo koo) and she gives Desmond her boat so he can sail around the world to win his love back.

He sails, he crashes and is found by non other then Clancy Brown. If you remember, Clancy was the dude who trained Sayid to be a torturer. They're in the hatch for a few years (!) and Desmond's starting to get a little stir crazy. Apparently Clancy can leave, but Desmond can't. We even learn that Clancy's the one that painted everything on the blast door that Locke saw. Desmond realizes Clancy's been lying to him and keeping him inside. Clancy also gets drunk and Desmond finds him under the hatch, in a crawl space. He has a fail safe key and a keyhole. He says that if they turn the key, all of this "goes away". He also says that there was that pesky "incident" which was a leak and now every time it builds up, they push the button to let some of that out. Interesting.

Speaking of the boat, Sayid and Jack decide to use the boat to foil the plan the Others obviously have set up for them. Sayid says he'll go by sea, get to the Other's camp first, scout it out and then go to a beach and start a fire, to give them the signal that everything's okay. I have some problems with this, starting with the Others seeing the boat. Why wouldn't they? Plus, what if the group gets ambushed on the way, like every other time they've tried to find them. Jack's still not convinced Michael's up to no good and wants to tell the others but then finally agrees.

Down in the hatch, Locke's finally limped his way there. Eko is still there, ready to push the button when it counts down. Locke tells him that he's going to let it run down, because he's not a slave. Eko's not buying it, and really, why would Locke think he would? He was in the same boat a few short weeks, days, months, who knows, ago. The alarm goes off and Locke grabs Eko's big stick and tries to take the computer out, not successfully. Have you seen Eko? Eko knocks him across the room, puts the numbers in, and then kicks Locke out of the hatch. The whole time Locke is yelling that they can't be puppets, and that they have them on strings.

On the beach, everyone's ready to go off to find Walt. Oh and kill some Others. Jack gives everyone a gun, including Michael, but Hurley refuses it. Kate reminds everyone of what she found in the other hatch, the clothes, the make-up. Why is she just talking about this now? Anyway, Michael says no, that he was there, they were in huts, and they were hillbillies. In his defense, that's all he saw. Of course, you'd think he'd remember what Walt said, about them not being who they say they are.

Sayid and Sun are chatting when Jin comes up. She pulls him aside and says that Sayid wants him (Jin) to help him sail across the island to help Michael. Jin doesn't want to do it though, leave his pregnant wife. Sun says don't worry, she's coming with them. Great.

Walking in the jungle, Sawyer sees a doll on the ground and starts to pick it up. Kate warns him about not falling into the trap. She explains what happened with her and Jack and Sawyer laughs, since he thought getting caught in the net was some way of Jack saying that he and Kate had done the nasty. Kate looks little irritated the two were talking about her. Me, I would have been doing backflips and hurdles to know these two were talking about me, and jealous, but not her. Bitch.

Suddenly a huge bird come out of nowhere and scares the crap out of everyone, especially Hurley who swore the bird said his name. I Tivo'd it, and it kinda did. Weird. What's even more weird for Michael is that he fired the gun at the bird and no bullets came out. Jack has an "oh sh*t" look on his face, because he's busted. Jack plays like he made a mistake and didn't give him a full magazine, but Michael knows something's up.

On the boat, the very observant Sun, sees something off the side of the boat, on the land. It's like a scene out of Planet of the Apes, but it's not the Statue of Liberty. It's from just about the ankle down. Sayid points out the most disquieting thing is it only has four toes. Um, no, the most disquieting thing is that it's a cement type foot in the middle of an island.

In the hatch, Eko leaves the room to investigate some noise and with Desmond's help, Locke lowers the blast door and gets them trapped inside, with Eko on the outside. All this so they can let the counter count down. Locke explains who Eko is to Desmond. For some reason Desmond doesn't like the idea of pissing off a priest. Eko gives up and leaves through the original way the group got in the hatch, up the rope. We're also reminded of the "quarantine" written on the door. He runs off. Eko finds Charlie on the beach, wanting to know how they got the hatch open originally. Charlie finally admits that they blew it open. Eko tells him that if they don't hurry, the world will end. A little dramatic there Eko. Charlie agrees to help. They set up some dynamite, the Arntz dynamite at the blast door and sets it off. Because they're, you know, blast doors, it just blows up on that side. Locke doesn't really care about the people on the other side. Harsh.

In the jungle it's finally revealed that Michael's leading them into a trap. He tries to explain but everyone that didn't already know, Kate and Hurley, are disappointed. They all also realize that he's the one who let Henry go, and shot Ana-Lucia and Libby. Everyone's upset that Jack brought them out here, knowing they could be facing death, but Jack tries to assure them that they have a plan.

And here's that plan now. Sayid's doing some praying. Sun and Jin look fairly content for sailing to what could be a nasty shoot out where they die. Jin sees something on the horizon and interrupts Sayid's praying. Not a good sign. They look to the shore and see the rock with the hole. Somehow Sayid knows this is the place, not really sure how. I guess we missed a conversation he and Michael had. He lands and searches it, unfortunately no one is there. He's a bit concerned.

Jack and the others have made it to the clearing. The clearing isn't clear though, it has hundreds of those canisters that the bank uses for those tubes. Just like the ones whoever was sitting in that one hatch would be sending to "headquarters". But look, "headquarters" is a field on the island. So Locke's entire thinking is now wrong and he's letting the counter go down! Of course, no one knows this because Locke and Eko didn't tell them. Suddenly, they see the smoke Sayid is sending from the beach and it's in the clear opposite direction. Jack's pissed. Where has Michael been taking them? He swears he doesn't know what he means and is leading them to the beach. Before they can argue too much though they all start getting hit with darts and pass out.

The Others have gagged our people, except Michael, and have brought them to a pier. Zeke's all dressed up, beard and all, and Kate tells him that they know all of that is fake. Henry comes out and inspects everyone, like he's the Queen Bee and then says it's time to do business. Michael looks sick and Kate looks like she's going to cry. I'd be crying and throwing up.

Desmond and Locke have a few minutes before the counter runs down and he wants to know if Locke found anything in that other hatch. He hands him that print out he got and we get Desmond's flashback. It's now been three years in the hatch and he's decided to go out. He follows Clancy and realizes Clancy's been fixing up his boat, ready to sail off. Desmond goes crazy and beats Clancy to death. He takes the fail safe key and goes back to the hatch. When he gets there alarms are going off because he hasn't pushed the button. Things are shooting all over the room, pulled by that electromagnetic force that we know is in the wall. He eventually hits the numbers a bunch of times and the "System Failure" that was on the screen disappears and everything seems to go back to normal.

So do we get it yet? Desmond's in the present day with Locke, still looking over the print out. He reads it and starts seeing "System Failure" and realizes the numbers are the date and time. He tells Locke that he's the one who crashed his plane! The electromagnetic system failure brought the plane down. Do you get it people??? He tries to explain it to him, but he's not having it. Desmond tries to push the numbers in but Locke smashes the computer. Desmond thinks Locke just killed them all and crosses some wires to lift the blast door up. Charlie's there, somewhat hurt, looking for Eko. Charlie wants Desmond to help him, and he says that's what he's going to do. We flashback to when he was left all alone in the hatch after he killed Clancy and he's about to kill himself. He opens the book he carries around with him to finally read and a letter falls out. It's from Penny. She basically tells him never to give up on her, that she'll wait for him forever. He cries and throws stuff around and then hears something. It's Locke banging on the hatch door, when Boone died. Desmond turns on the light and it's when Locke sees that bright light and has an epiphany and so does Desmond sorta, he doesn't kill himself.

Desmond opens his book and the fail safe key is there. He pushes past Locke and starts down the tunnel where he found Clancy before. He tells Locke to believe in fate, that that night he heard him talking over the hatch he saved his life, and now it was his turn to save Locke's. He said it's all real, and he doesn't know when Locke started not believing it. He then says he's going to blow the dam. Before he goes down he says those beautiful words he said to our dear Jack at the stadium, "I'll see you in another life, brotha".

The "System Failure" starts blaring, just like it did for Desmond. Eko's now awake and Charlie helps him out, avoiding flying metal objects. Eko goes back though, to get Locke, who tells Eko that he was wrong. A little late for that buddy. Down below, Desmond's made it to the keyhole. He thinks about the letter Penny wrote, that all you need is one person who truly loves you. He does a sign of the cross, says, "I love you Penny" and turns the key. Everything goes white.

At the pier, everyone's still hanging around and there's suddenly a super loud noise and the sky turns a crazy color. People cover their ears, Sayid, Sun and Jin on the boat cover their ears, and the people on the beach as well. There's also something hurdling towards the beach. It crashes and we see it's the quarantine door from the hatch. Uh oh. That's not good. After it all goes away Charlie comes back to the beach. Bernard asks where Eko and Locke are and Charlie, half deaf, wonders why they're not back yet. Double uh oh.

On the pier, Walt's reunited with Michael and they head for the boat, even though Henry's not happy they gave up the boat. He instructs Michael to follow certain coordinates and that it'll get him rescued. Michael wonders how he knows he won't tell anyone about this. Henry says that you can leave but you can never come back. Kinda like the Hotel California song, but not really. He also says that Michael did kill two people, so he may not want that to get out. Michael says they promised not to hurt his friends, and Henry sorta plays along with that. Oh Michael. He and Walt leave, as he looks on to his friends, wishing things could be different.

Henry then tells Hurley he can leave, and he's surprised. He asks about his friends and Henry tells him that they're coming home with him. Jack nods to Hurley that he should leave. The Others pick Jack, Sawyer and Kate up and Jack and Kate have a moment, which Sawyer sees and doesn't particularly like.

Charlie and Claire have a moment on the beach, but I don't really care because one of the best moments ever for a cliffhanger happens. We suddenly cut to the North Pole or something. Two guys are sitting around playing chess or checkers, I really don't remember. Anyway, there's a beeping noise at the computer and they go to it. On the screen it says "Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected". They go crazy and the one tells the other one to call. The phone rings somewhere, late at night. There's a picture on the nightstand. It's the same picture Desmond has, of him and Penelope. The man on the other end of the phone tells her, "It's us, I think we found it." The woman sits up and it's Penelope. Yes, with enough money you CAN find anyone!

Bad ass! Okay, so I thought this wouldn't take too long, but trust me, I wrote a longer one and it was ridiculously longer then this. Tomorrow night's the premiere and I can't wait!!!
