EMMY NOMS

Yesterday morning I woke up and immediately went to my computer to find out who got nominated for Emmys. The announcement came before 6AM. I was not awake then. In fact, I think I was in the middle of a dream where John Mayer was telling me he loved me. Yup, he was. What? Dreams can come true.

Anyway, in my robe, with bleary eyes, as I brushed my teeth, I sat at my computer and read the 29 page nomination PDF file. I had to rub my eyes a few times to see if what I was looking at was true. Later inspection here at work, led me to believe it was, is. I'll just go over the big categories, Drama, Comedy, Actor and Actress in each, Supporting Actor and Actress in each, and reality shows. What the hell were they thinking?

Left out of all of the major categories, except Guest Actor for the man who plays Desdmond (rightfully) was LOST. Yes, I said LOST. LOST!!! The Emmy winner last year, got just about completely snubbed. I have mixed feeling with the Drama category. On one hand I'm extremely happy. Grey's Anatomy AND 24 got nominated. That makes complete sense. And the fact that Desperate Housewives got snubbed is just great. That show, although rallying at the end there, totally sucked for most of the season. Alfre Woodard did get nominated for Best Supporting Actress though, but I don't really count her, especially because she won't be in it anymore.

What I just don't understand is not choosing two of the greatest shows on television, definitely in my opinion, in the top 5 and should have been nominated. LOST, of course, and Battlestar Galactica. I know I don't talk about this show, since it'd be sorta a conflict of interest, but it's one of the best out there. It frustrates the living crap out of me that this show doesn't get recognized. Luckily, every critic who watches it thinks it's stellar, but the people who control the voting system don't seem to pay any mind to it, since it's "sci fi". I beg of all of you who don't watch it, watch one episode. Start to finish, making sure you watch the 'previously on' part and if you don't want to see what happens next, then fine, but 9 times out of 10, you will.

Here's a breakdown of the top nominations and who I think should win...
