ER CRASH

The show starts with Neela doing a ride along with John Stamo, the paramedic. I have so many things I could say about that, but I'll hold back. Anyway, Neela says hi to her old friends at the hospital after dropping off a patient. We learn that to punish Ray for his nasty habbit of bedding prepubescent girls (as if the ass kicking he got last week wasn't enough) Neela has kicked him out of the apartment. Not really sure what that does to make him stop, but she's able to convince him to do dishes and help keep the place clean when he comes back. As they talk they see his crazy ex girlfriend, 14 year old Zoe, at the front desk. STALKER! Neela tries to get rid of her, but just like the STD she's being treated for, she's sorta hard to get rid of. She follows Ray around most of the night, insisting that she's still his girlfriend, even making him a mix CD, awe, how romantic.

Speaking of sex, we flash to me waking up in bed next to Luka. Oh wait, that was ABBY, yes Abby. Whoa, I just had to take my jacket off, I just got a hot flash. She seems a bit confused and almost not happy to have woken up with Luka next to her. The girl has issues. He makes her breakfast, or it might be dinner because they've slept the whole day away. Must have been up most of the night.

Back at the hospital Dr. Pratt is taking care of a crotchety old man who is refusing to take his heart medicine because it's too expensive. The man's wife is waiting outside and tells Pratt how much she loves Crotchety. The man agrees to treatment to make his wife happy, now that's love.

Sam is trying to deal with her new found managerial skills and is down two nurses thanks to Nurse Manager Eve, who's on her way out of the door. To make matters worse, a big fat white Bruce Lee named Kobayashi comes in and quickly passes out. He must have had a run in with Kaiser Soze. Sam wises up and calls in Haleh to help with the traumas. She says she'll deal with Eve. Eve comes back later and sees Haleh there. Finally Sam stands up for her and says that Haleh is a wonderful nurse and they were getting slammed. Eve agrees and tells her good job. Nice, I can't imagine ER without Haleh.

Meanwhile, John Stamos is still hitting on Neela, until he realizes that she really does have a boyfriend, and he's in Iraq trying not to get his head blown off. John (I don't know what his name is on the show, how about Hottie Paramadi, HP for short) HP still flirts, and it looks like Neela likes it. He plays the whole, "get in and then I'll drive away joke". It's cute. They stop off for coffee between patients and seem to be enjoying their time.

Pratt puts Crotchety in a chopper to fly him to another hospital. Never a good idea to put someone in a flying vehicle on this show (RIP Dr. Ramano). Anyway, Pratt stands on the roof watching the helicopter fly away and BAM he sees an airplane blow up in the night sky and fall to the ground. Abby and Luka hear the rumbling (of the plane) and wonder what's going on. Neela and HP are lucky enough to see the actual explosion. All very exciting.

You know it's gonna get good when the music starts getting intense. Of course the traumas are coming to County, it's chaos. Pratt and Ray argue over who gets to go out on the call for doctors on the scene and Pratt wins. Although after last years house party deck collapse episode with Ray I'd want him there. Man that was a good episode.

Back at the scene HP and Neela go around triaging people. Looks like most of the people hurt are people already on the ground. The plane has hit cars and apartment buildings, so everything is on fire. They find lots of people, some of them too gone to save or already dead. Suddenly, Serena Williams shows up, I didn't know there was a tournament this week in Chic- Oh wait, her son is missing and she needs help. HP runs into the burning building to find the little tyke with Neela yelling after him not to go.

Pratt shows up and is working on people as well. He finds a man that was actually on the plane and is stuck in the seat. He works on him until they find an even more severe patient, a man who was on the ground and got hit by debris. He's still pinned under it and is having heart pains. I mean, a plane just fell on him, so I'm not surprised. The man's heart stops but Pratt gets it started again.

Over with Neela, Serena gets tired of waiting for HP to come out with her son and leaves her daughter there and runs into the building. Neela yells for her and to the other rescuers and runs in after Serena. Right after she runs into the building it explodes, very Days of Our Lives. Please let HP be okay. Pratt hears Neela run in and is concerned, telling the paramedic that his friend is in there. He's got more things to worry about as the man's heart fails again. He begins compressions and the man wakes up, even though his heart isn't pumping itself. They jump into an ambulance to get him to County ASAP to give him drugs to restart his heart. Pratt's still concerned about Neela, but needs to go.

Neela is safe, although surrounded by fire and falling debris. She sees HP who is treating Serena a few floors below. He tells her to get out but instead she runs to the top floor to save Serena's son. She gets the little boy but is trapped in the building. Fortunately for her she's rescued by firefighters and is ushered out. Unfortunately HP was badly injured and lies on the ground. Neela works on him and is forced to open him up there on the ground to stop his liver from bleeding. Not before HP asks her if she would go out with him if she didn't have a boyfriend. This woman's a doctor so she's obviously smart, she says yes and this makes HP happy. I mean as happy as a man can be while lying near death with a resident about to open up his belly in the middle of the road.

Back at County Luka and Abby have shown up to help out. Luka and Dr. Clemente have very different opinions on how to run traumas and butts heads nearly every time they're in a scene together. Pratt shows up as well with his heart patient who is still wide awake while people pump on his chest. They call his girlfriend and his family who join them at the hospital. By now the man has a tube in his throat and can't talk, but he's able to see everyone that's shown up. His family asks Pratt and Ray if there's anything else they can do to get the man's heart going again, and they say no. The man realizes he's going to die and in probably one of the most touching moments so far this season, reaches out and touches Pratt's hands as he does compressions. Pratt asks the man if he wants him to stop and he nods yes. Pratt stops and the man dies. Sam tells Pratt that the man was lucky because he was able to say good bye to all of those people that loved him.

At the hospital Luka and Abby are working on the one surviving airline passenger. He stops breathing and they pull out a tooth from his throat, saving him. He's so relieved with his newfound life that he says he's going to call off his wedding. Abby thinks he might be acting a bit rash, but he doesn't, since he thinks he's gay anyway.

Once Neela gets back to the hospital with HP everyone is impressed that she was able to open him up in the field. Abby learns that Serena has died and Neela goes to the kids. Pratt and Ray see her and are relieved she's okay. Pumped up by the experience, Neela wants to go back out to the scene to continue to help. Abby doesn't think this is a good idea since Neela inhaled a lot of smoke and may have burnt lungs. Ouch.

Meanwhile, Dr. Clemente is on the phone with the mystery woman he's been talking to since he first got to County a few weeks ago and tells her to stop calling and go back to her husband. Interesting. Clemente wants to have a sit down with Luka, but Luka just leaves and says they'll talk in the morning. We then have an awkward moment between Luka and Abby out in the ambulance bay. All good emotional moments happen there. I'm crossing my fingers that she doesn't mess this up again. She tells him that the night before was "nice", I'm sure something every guy wants to hear. Luka tells her that she's always been the one person he can count on, and that the friendship (yikes) means a lot to him. Of course when she repeats what he just said to him, he seems to not be okay with the whole just friends thing. So they do the classic, 'oh we'll be better off' speech and decide to just remain friends. I'd be a bit more comfortable with this arrangement if it was friends with benefits, but unfortunately, Abby doesn't think like I do.

Neela finally gets home after a long day of crash victims. By now I'm thinking she's gonna collapse or something. Instead she looks behind her and getting out of the cab is none other than Gallant!!! Man, I've been waiting for him to come back forever. They hug in the street as cars honk around them. A great moment.
