Finally we get to see sh** blow up. I love it. When we last left the crazy First Lady she had jumped into the Suvarov's car and was headed towards certain doom. The only thing I actually care about here is Aaron Pierce, the trusted Secret Service agent.
When we join the gang, Bierko and his men are going over the plan to attack the motorcade. How they got all those little motorcade models I'll never know. Logan and Mike are reviewing the threat assessment and find out the likely place the motorcade will be hit. Logan's worried because he's figured out he's a prick. He's also worried because he doesn't want America and the rest of the world to wonder how a Russian President could get killed on US soil. I wouldn't worry about that, they all think you're a tool. While talking, Mike gets a phone call telling him that he could save more on insurance if he switches to Geiko. Logan is furious when he learns Martha got into the car with the Suvarov's. Unfortunately, they can't do anything about it for fear the terrorists will release the gas in a populated area.
Logan calls Martha in Suvarov's limo and tells her to get her skinny ass back. She pretends she's talking to him about the weather or something and he demands she tell the driver to stop and have another one of the cars take her back. She just smiles and hangs up on him. Logan and Mike talk about just having the Secret Service grab her out of the limo and bring her back. If they do that they run the risk of her blabbing to them that they're heading for a trap and of course that's not cool because the Suvarov's will figure out Logan sold them out. Mike wonders if Logan wants to call back the motorcade. Logan wonders it too.
At CTU, Audrey whispers to Edgar to meet her in the back room and once she leaves, McGill approaches him and asks what that was all about. Jealous much? She's not into you dude, she's all about Bauer. Edgar covers for her and McGill reminds everyone that he wants to make their lives harder and hinder the investigation to find the nerve gas so he's mirroring everyone's computers. Audrey makes it to the server room where Chloe's waiting for her. Chloe tells her that Jack didn't tell her how he knows Henderson, the man from Omicron.
Audrey calls Jack and he tells her that he's going to need help getting into the Omicron building. He lets her know that Henderson is who recruited him for CTU. Unfortunately the guy had to leave CTU when he was involved in an internal investigation that Jack was a part of. Jack thinks that if Omicron was involved in the making of the Sentox gas, Henderson would know about it. When Edgar finally makes it into the room he huffs and puffs when hey tell him that they're helping Jack. If he hasn't noticed the Hobbit is freaking out for no reason. They want Edgar to cover for Chloe while they help out Jack. Because Chloe bats her eyes and says please, he decides to help them.
Over with Logan, he's still worried about his wife. As well he should be, she's gonna be blown to bits in a few minutes. Since CTU doesn't have any new leads to the nerve gas, Logan and Mike realize that the only way to save Martha is for them to stop the motorcade. What I'm wondering is why Mike and Logan are just discussing this amongst themselves. I mean I know they don't want to risk the gas being released in a populated area, but these aren't really the two guys I want making decisions like this. I mean, Mike yes, but Logan, no. Probably takes this guy an hour to pick out his tie. In the limo Martha's starting to have second thoughts about jumping into the death car and asks Aaron if there's been any changes to the route. He tells her no, and she covers by telling the Suvarov's that she's worried about traffic.
The funny part about this is McGill is standing up
The funny part about this is McGill is standing up
McGill's continuing to lose his cool when he notices one of the tech's on the phone. She's not calling the Psychic Hotline, but McGill freaks out that she's not doing exactly what she's supposed to and fires her. Edgar's surprised at McGill's attitude and is scared when he turns his anger towards him, asking where Chloe is. He tells him she's taking care of "woman" problems and this shuts McGill up quickly, as it does any man. In the server room Audrey and Chloe are just getting Jack access to Omicron when McGill walks in. He's angry they aren't at their stations but Audrey lies and tell him that Chloe was helping her with a DOD assignment. McGill yells at Audrey that she should have told him that she needed Chloe. Before they can throw down (my money's on Audrey) Chloe tells him that she's finished and can leave.
Jack gets to Omicron and because of Chloe's quick computer skills, his cover works and they let him in. He goes to Henderson's office and asks his secretary where the bathroom is. She points him down the hall and he leaves. When he's out of sight he calls Audrey and has her call the secretary to get her away from her desk. When she leaves Jack goes in, gun in hand, and walks into Henderson's office. Once he walks in he gets hit with a few hundred volts from a stun gun by Robocop. Jack wakes up a few moments later and Henderson has his gun. He says that he never thought Jack was really dead, that he was always alive in his heart. Jack explains why he's there and Henderson doesn't believe that Omicron had anything to do with the gas. He claims all the gas that was made was for the military and all of it has since been destroyed. Jack tells him that the eleven people killed at the Sunrise Mall were killed by the Sentox manufactured at Omicron. Henderson swears that he had nothing to do with it, but because of their past relationship, Jack can't believe him. He gives Jack back his gun and tells him that if it came from Omicron, it was made in a bunker across the way at the facility. Jack wants to see the place, and after a minute Henderson agrees to take Jack there, picking up a metal file box on his way out.
Edgar approaches Chloe and tells her that he's been monitoring NSA terrorist chatter and the numbers they're using all correspond to highways in LA that the Russian President is taking in his motorcade. Curtis is with McGill when Edgar and Chloe bring him their findings and he yells at them and wondering why they're wasting their time looking at NSA terrorist chatter. They think it's at least worth handing over to the Secret Service and he yells some more about them not listening to him. He says that he's not going to notify the Secret Service because of the little they've found that has nothing to do with the nerve gas. After they leave Curtis tells McGill that he thinks maybe they should at least follow up and McGill refuses.
Bierko's guy calls again to wonder if the motorcade is still on track. This guy annoys me, he needs to calm the hell down, it'll get there when it gets there. Bierko should stab him in the stomach as well.
Audrey goes to McGill to convince him to listen to the chatter Edgar and Chloe found and again he acts like a little Puss, telling her that he doesn't want to be the source of any more mistakes. He threatens to have Audrey removed, and Curtis overhears this too. Audrey leaves the office and then sends Chloe and Edgar an instant message, telling them to meet her in the corridor. When they meet she tells them that they need to get a message to the Secret Service. They know the threat won't be taken serious unless it comes directly from McGill. Why they don't just call Audrey's father and tell him I really don't know, he is the Secretary of Defense. Chloe says that she can hack into McGill's computer to make it look like the message came from him. Edgar of course doesn't want to do this because it's illegal, but Chloe's eyes are just so mesmerizing. Audrey then sees Curtis and runs to catch up with him. When she does she tells him that McGill has gone off his rocker and that they need Bill back. Since Curtis is the senior agent in charge without Bill, she wants him to stage a mutiny on the grounds that McGill is crazy. He's not sure he wants to do that.
Unfortunately, while Edgar and Chloe are working on getting the information off of McGill's computer, their computers shut off. McGill walks up and asks Chloe how stupid she thinks he is. She opens her arms wide and says, "This stupid". He wants Chloe and Edgar taken into custody. He also tells Curtis to get Audrey the hell out of there as well. Man, they're dropping like flies over at CTU. Curtis isn't crazy, or stupid, so he refuses to arrest Audrey and invokes the crazy clause, telling the men to arrest McGill instead. McGill's confused and tells the men, Curtis' men, to arrest him as well. Curtis threatens to draw his weapon. The men follow their true leader and take McGill away. Curtis informs Division that McGill has been relieved of duty and orders Bill to be released.
When Bill gets back to CTU he starts righting all the wrongs. He orders that tech who McGill fired back and wants to know what else is going on. They tell him about Jack's mission and about the terrorist chatter. Bill calls Logan with Mike on the line and tells him about Suvarov's motorcade being in trouble. Of course since Logan knows he's completely silent. Mike tries to play it off and tells Bill that Logan's upset because Martha's in the car with the Suvarov's.
As the motorcade is turning into Deeley Plaza the gunmen in the Book Depository are preparing to fire. Aaron gets a call that the motorcade is in danger and immediately orders for them to turn around. When the terrorists realize what's happening they open fire. They send a missle right to the motorcade and since the limo has better armor then the trucks in Iraq, the missle just catches it on fire and the people inside are still alive. Aaron has been knocked out though and can't protect them when the gunmen approach and start firing. Because the limo is bullet proof nothing is happening. Bring in the flamethrower. Flamethrowers are cool. Anyway, he starts firing at them just about the time Aaron wakes up. He throws the door open and takes out the gunmen. He then shoots the tank on the flamethrower and the guy blows up. YES! I love it when sh** blows up! The police show up and Mike tells Logan that everyone, including Martha, is alive. I mean everyone but who was in that front car, but hey, they're not important. Logan's worried that Bierko will think all of this was his idea, and that he didn't keep up his end of the bargain.

Back with Jack, he and Robocop make it to the bunker. Henderson tells Jack that he doesn't know who worked on the project but they'll find out. He starts looking up the information on the computer and while it's coming up they reminisce about the old days at CTU, when Nina and Mason were still alive. Henderson says that he was framed for all of that, and that he cries himself to sleep every night thinking that Jack thought he was a part of that. The computer comes up with information that the scientists involved in creating the Sentox gas have all died in freak accidents in the last few years.
Jack wants to get these files to CTU and Robocop leaves to get some help from IT. We all know that you can't have IT come to you 'cause that'll take too long. As he walks out Jack picks up the phone to call CTU but the phones are dead. Jack runs to the door and realizes he's been locked in. He hits his forehead with his hand and yells "Doh!". When he goes to the metal box Henderson brought in there's a small explosive device in it. Jack quickly tries to figure out what to do and puts the explosive by the door and pulls up the floor of the room. As he gets in the floor, Henderson, who must have been parked in a handicap zone because he's already driving away. He's talking to someone on the phone and says that Jack's been taken care of. He pushes the detonator and the bomb with Jack explodes. Jack gets out of the floor and is okay, just his ego is hurt.
Logan and Mike talk about the situation and Logan thinks they can use the fact that Martha was with the Suvarov's during the attack as proof Logan didn't know about the attack. Yeah, yeah, do that. Cummings' phone rings and it's a damn telemarketer. No, it's Bierko. Logan tries to convince him that he had nothing to do with the motorcade turning around. Bierko doesn't care and says that now they have a new enemy, and that the United States will pay dearly, with the lives of our citizens. He says this is the last time they'll talk and hangs up, leaving Logan with one of those stupid looks he gets.
