NO TURNING BACK

Finally. After what seemed like an eternity, the guys finally make it out. Or do they? After Michael pulled a shiv on Pope at the end of the last episode, there's only one thing that can happen, the guys getting out.

Michael's still in Pope's office with a shiv to him. Pope's forgotten all that sweet and fuzzy stuff he said to Michael before and says that he's just earned another ten years. The radio comes to life and it's one of the C.O.s. He tells Pope that he's looking at Bellick's truck in the parking lot, and that he has to be here. Michael instructs Pope to tell the guard that he spoke to Bellick, and that he walked to town. Bellick just out for a stroll, can you imagine? Under direst, Pope does what he says, although I think in hand to hand Pope could break Michael in two. We then see that Michael has taped Pope to his chair. I find this highly unlikely since unspooling tape makes an obnoxiously loud noise, and anyone outside of the office would have heard it.

When Pope's secure, Michael has him radio to have Lincoln sent to the infirmary. Of course he does it and he has some loyal employees because they don't even question why they're taking this healthy man to the infirmary. Before he leaves, Michael tells Pope that one day he'll understand why he did it. Then he gags him and hits him hard enough to knock him out. He pulls him into the closet and picks up the phone. He then goes outside and tells Pope's secretary that Pope said he's going to be on this conference call for awhile. She looks down at the phone and verifies that he is indeed on it. Michael should have added "And he said you could take the rest of the night off", but he doesn't. The secretary then takes the time to make Michael feel like a tool telling him how much Pope likes him and appreciates his help getting the Taj Mahal done. I really hope he put that piece back in it so it'd stand up before he left.

I hope he flushed first

Michael makes it back to his cell in the nick of time. I'm thinking Sucre's going to jump out of his skin. I'm about to jump out of my skin too. Michael reminds us that they have an hour to get everyone over the wall. Over with Westmoreland, he's not doing too well. He's changing the sock that he's put on his stomach wound and it's not looking too good. All the other cons are checking each other out through the bars, waiting for tier time to begin. Unfortunately, C-Note looks up at Trumpets, whose ass he kicked earlier in the kitchen and he makes the throat cutting signal which means his ass is grass once tier time begins. Dumbass Tweener's trying to make his jumpsuit white like the crazies' jumpsuit.

Michael looks over to Sucre and wonders if he unscrewed the toilet. No, he was worrying about his ass coming back. Unfortunately, that's five minutes they don't have. Ain't that the truth. Sucre realizes he's just made a big mistake and throws up. He says he can't do ten more years in there. No crap. Who could? Trumpets maybe, since he's the man in there. Suddenly the doors open and it's tier time.

Everyone starts making their way to Michael's cell in the most obvious convergence I've ever seen. We know the C.O.s at Fox River are dumb, but why they don't see eight people walking in one cell and not walking out I don't know. Regardless, they all get to the cell just as they're opening the sink. Sucre takes all the jumpsuits and puts them under Michael's bunk. C-Note looks up at Trumpets who's watching everything go down. Unfortunately, Tweener didn't take any home economics classes and doesn't know how to bleach. There are a few blue spots still on his suit. Poor kid. C-Note then goes into the cell just as Trumpets get his guys ready to pounce. He tells them that he's going to get C-Note and whoever gets in his way.

Down in the hole, Bellick's coming along well getting his ropes untied. He gets one and I'm sure that's the one, but it's not. Damn, Westmoreland did a hell of a good job tying this dude up. What I want to know is why they have so much rope in the guard's room. Anyway, there are some men above him in the room who come and go without hearing him screaming through his gag.

Trumpets and the rest of the brass section, get to Michael's cell. The curtain is dropped, but he doesn't care that C-Note and Michael want some private time. Abruzzi tries to stop Trumpets from going in, but Trumpets is on a mission. When he pulls back the sheet he just sees Michael sitting on the bed, reading or something, C-Note nowhere in sight. I'm glad the whole escape crew was in on what was going down with Trumpets and didn't think they were old friends or something. "He's over there". Trumpets leaves and we see that C-Note has already made it through to the other side of the wall. I'm really glad this cat's still alive. I like him.

Nick still has the gun trained on poor sappy looking Veronica. She wants to know what the hell is going on. He assures her that he's not working for the conspiracy people, he's working for Abruzzi. Apparently, Nick's father is a criminal that supposedly didn't do it, just like Lincoln. One of Abruzzi's guys who was already doing life, confessed to the crime Nick's dad was in the clink for. Because of this, Nick owes Abruzzi one. Veronica realizes that she's going to be exchanged for his father's freedom. Don't get all high and mighty on us now V, you would have totally done that for Lincoln. Nick foolishly thinks that everything will be okay if she just gets Michael to tell Abruzzi where Fibonacci is. He also thinks that all Abruzzi wants to do is get Fibonacci to sign his yearbook.

In Michael's cell, all the escapees are going through, one by one. Again, why no one is noticing this is totally beyond me. Michael hands them each the jumpsuit Sucre just took from them and stored. Not really sure why they did that either, but I'm going with it. When Manche gets stuck a bit, T-Bag tells him to move his fat ass. That's not nice. He may have a low metabolism. Since Michael's the captain, he goes last, not before Sucre wonders if he ever got that pesky key to the infirmary.

No, he didn't. He didn't because dumbass Sara's still staring at Lake Michigan wondering what the hell to do. I don't know, get your ass back to the prison and unlock the damn door. They're almost there. She has to be more then ten minutes away and something tells me that Michael and the guys are ten minutes away from the infirmary. Make up your damn mind already.

I just love Michael popping up over his shoulder. Made me laugh.

Down in the tunnels Michael tells his crew they're ten minutes late. He then looks at Sucre and shakes his head. If they hadn't had to unscrew the damn toilet... Bellick's also down there and he's now managed to get the gag off and starts yelling. The team stops when they hear him. Also stopping are two C.O.s. Our favorite white and black ones. They hear something and go back to the guard's room to check it out. Right as the guard come in and Bellick's about to shout again, T-Bag puts his hand over Bellick's mouth. Even though these are the smarter of the guards, they think they both just imagined hearing someone screaming from below the room and don't do anything to check it out. For some reason Michael tells T-Bag to get Bellick's uniform and hat off. Personally I would have put someone not into raping people in charge of that, no matter what a douche Bellick is.

Dr. Sara's finally made it to Fox River. She took K.I.T.T. the magic car that goes real fast and jumps over any traffic. She broods a bit but then goes into the prison.

Bellick's mouthing off to the escapees as they go by him one by one. You can tell T-Bag wants to do some unmentionable to him. When Sucre goes by he calls him a dumbass in Spanish, which is awesome. When Tweener goes by Bellick makes eye contact and tries to say something, but is cut off with a bunch from Tweener. T-Bag looks like he's going to do something again but doesn't, leaving Bellick to lay there, watching the group head off into the tunnels.

In Nick's car, Veronica's tied up in the back seat. Ah, it's like prom night all over again. She begs Nick not to do this, but he's not listening. If anyone knows what someone will do for a family member it's Veronica. I get a little queasy when he puts a pillowcase over her head. Personally I think if you want to go inconspicuously through the city having a woman in the backseat, putting a white sheet over her head may not be the best idea.

The team gets to a section of the tunnel and Michael tells them to put the white jumpsuits on. He's put on Bellicks hat and jacket and hot damn does he look good in a uniform, even Bellick's. He tells them to wait there, that he'll be right back. He goes to the keypad next to the door and blows some powder on it, seeing the four digits the person last touched. He starts going through combinations and thank goodness it's not like at the ATM where if you enter it too many times it locks you out. This is the most inept prison and prison system I've ever seen portrayed on television. As Michael does this, C-Note notices poor Westmoreland's condition, and because these two bonded over their daughters a few episodes ago, he's concerned.

Agent Brinker is in a meeting with The Company, I guess. A bunch of old white guys. Is it wrong to think this is exactly how our government is run? Anyway, they're talking about what to do with the Vice President. They were all for her when she was doing what they wanted, but they're not happy with her lately, the whole Terrance Steadman thing and all. They think maybe they should pull their support from her and because Agent Brinker is there, from one bitch to another, they ask what they think they should do. She tells them that the only thing Reynolds has going for her is becoming President, and if that doesn't happen she's going to go balls out. This solidifies to them what to do.

Ah, yeah, morphine

Dr. Sara comes into the infirmary and sees that Lincoln's being escorted in. For some reason this surprises her. I guess she didn't think Michael would really do it. She's in the supply closet and notices the bottles of morphine, which take her back to the days when all her problems were solved by shooting the stuff up. I have to admit, I had surgery on my knee and that morphine pump they gave me was frakkin' awesome. I wish I had one of those now.

Down in the tunnel, Manche's got a bad feeling about this. Not sure if they told him that the last part is scaling a flimsy wire fifty feet above the yard. T-Bag doesn't give him a pep talk. In Pope's office his secretary looks down in the middle of her solitary game, at the light on the phone, noticing that Pope's still talking. Suddenly, an alarm goes off. I nearly jumped out of my chair. The boys are freaking out too. Michael looks mildly concerned.

T-Bag starts to lose his cool too, and I wonder if Manche's going to try and help him out, probably not. C-Note tells them to hurry back. Why? So Bellick can bust your ass? Michael appears and tells them to stick with the plan. He's the one who set off the fire alarm. As much as I love Michael, that would have called for a slap in the face. He could have told them that. Above them, the psych ward is being evacuated because of the alarm.

A plane arrives at what we're told is Goose Field. We assume this is Abruzzi's plane. The guy on it is very Italian. He's holding a police scanner to stay informed of what's going on. The pilot doesn't seem as confident and thinks it's such a small town, "the sticks" to be exact, that people were bound to hear the plane lane. Well, the FAA is bound to track a plane leaving with escaped convicts, but hey, you're not too worried about that.

All of the psych ward patients are milling crazily around when the orderly comes out and says it was a false alarm. Everyone is ushered back inside, giving the escapees a perfect chance to come up out of the hole, which they do. From around the corner, it seems someone is watching them, breathing a bit too heavy for my taste. At this point my roommate shouts out, "It's Haywire!" We don't know this for sure, but it's a damn good guess. I'm impressed.

God I love a man in uniform

As the inmates are being led back in, before they can close the door, Michael comes up in his uniform looking beyond yummy and tells them to wait, that they have some stragglers. Yeah, and an extra guard. Our escapees try and look crazy, which for some of them (T-Bag I'm talking to YOU) isn't really a stretch. Before they can walk fully into the ward, the orderly calls Tweener over noticing that it's not the issued white. Michael's standing next to the poor guy when he also realizes that Abruzzi's in the mix. Michael takes the meds the guy has and sticks him with it, knocking him out. I don't know why, but it was at this moment when I realized they were in it to win it. All or nothing. No turning back. I don't know why stripping Bellick of his clothes or locking Pope in his office at shiv point didn't tell me and this did.

In the back of Nick's car, Veronica's still pleading for her life. I bet Nick wishes he had some of that sedative Michael used for the guard. He finally stops the car and pulls the pillowcase off of her head. She looks scared. She shouldn't be, Nick's called for a cab and promptly puts her in it, saying she can go to the airport and head to Blackfoot to find Steadman. Lucky for her he brought her purse along with him. After she's away, he calls his dad and tells him to meet at the apartment. Thinking maybe meeting somewhere a little less obvious may be a good idea.

In the psych ward, as they're walking through, Michael takes this time to call Tweener out. He says that he knows he's the one who told Bellick about the escape. Tweener tries to lie, but he can't. Michael tells him that he owed him, and he pays his debts. Unfortunately once they're out he tells him that they're going one way and he's going another. Nothing much for Tweener to say really.

Dr. Sara's finally at that damn door. She better hurry up and unlock it because if she's there when T-Bag gets there there's no telling what he's going to do to her. She pretends to lock the door, but it's obvious she didn't. Katie comes up behind her and she gets a good scare. Last thing you'd want to do to a pretty girl in an all male prison is sneak up on them. Regardless, she tells her that the fire in the psych ward was a false alarm, which I guess is why they're there so late. Of course Dr. Sara comes and goes as she pleases in that place.

Down in the bowels of the psych ward, C-Note's going back to Westmoreland, seeing how he's doing. He's not looking so hot. He tells Westmoreland that there's no point dying when he gets out, since the whole point is to see his daughter. But Westmoreland wants to continue. All this is seen by who I'm now also convinced is Haywire. As Dr. Sara and Katie leave the infirmary, Michael pokes his head out one of the doors. Because there's no reason to monitor the infirmary when a man sentenced to death and has just tried to escape is being held, Michael has the rest of the guys follow him down the hallway.

Kellerman's with the Vice President as she's freaking out. Aunt Flo must be in town. He's telling her to calm down and take some Midol, but she says that she knows more then him, and that The Company is selling her out, she knows it. Apparently they uninvited her to a fundraiser, which is really quite rude. He thinks they're just trying to see how she reacts to this, and that she needs to react Presidential. I can't figure out if they're hooking it up or if he's her son or nephew.

In the infirmary Lincoln's not only sentenced to death, he's sentenced to listen to this guard talk about his car or something. Lincoln looks completely defeated, until he sees Michael come up behind the guard. When the guard is ambushed by the group, he tells them that he's no hero for fourteen dollars an hour, and they can do what they want. T-Bag knocks the guy out and without anyone seeing, takes the guy's handcuffs. Kinky.

Nick's back at his place, wondering where dear old dad is. I'll tell you where he is, getting the barrel of a gun stuck into his forehead. His dad walks out with the guy from the Verizon store. Nick's surprised, not sure why, you're at your own apartment.

In Bellick's office, his secretary's getting hungry and wonders how much longer this damn call is going to last. She wants to listen in to get a better idea and picks it up. It's a "Jokeline" that Michael dialed and it's $2.99 a minute. Damn, those must be some good jokes. She looks pissed. I would be too, highway robbery I tell ya.

At Nick's house, the Verizon guy holding his dad wants to know where Veronica is. He tells him that's she's gone. The guy doesn't give Nick a minute to rethink his answer, he just asks if Veronica can be produced in two minutes. Nick says no and Verizon guy just shoots his dad in the head. Thanks for the memories, dear old Nick's dad with the cabin who we got to see about 30 seconds of. I guess being shot in the head is better then being in prison. Since this dumb ass Verizon guy just shot the only thing he had over Nick, he ain't gettin' anything out of him now. He shoots Nick in the shoulder, but hey, he's tough, he's been shot before. Her smiles and tells the guy that Veronica's a million miles away from there, which sucks because that's halfway to the moon, and I can tell you, Steadman is not there. Verizon man's not having it and shoots Nick, probably in the head, we don't see exactly.

Michael and the gang make it to the door Sara was supposed to open and with relief, she has left it unlocked. Unfortunately, she's in her car crying. Sobbing really. I'm assuming because she just helped a known child molester and killer escape, although she doesn't know T-Bag is there. All she knows is Michael and his hot brother are going to be free and they can find some place to meet up and finish what they started last episode.

Inside the room, Michael and the guys go to work trying to get the bars off of the windows. Michael and C-Note go to the fire hose and bust it out. Westmoreland's not looking too good still, even worse if that's possible. In Pope's office, his secretary decides to go in to see what's so funny on that damn joke line that he's been on it for forty five minutes. Back with the escapees Michael ties the hose to the bars on the window and then ties the other end into the elevator. This makes sense, except, the elevator won't close because it keeps hitting the hose. Why didn't Michael think about that? Genius and he doesn't think of that?! Frustrated, looks like the team's at the end. Luckily Tweener steps inside the elevator and pushes the down button. I've never tried this before, but I find it hard to believe this would work, but alas, it does and the pressure from the dropping elevator rips the bars off.

Pope's secretary is now worried. She needs a big strong guard to help her look around. Seeing his office isn't in Trump Tower, not too hard to figure out he's not there. Tweener comes back into the room. I was quite worried he wouldn't make it back in. Suddenly, the person who was following them around breathing heavy shows up. Guess what? It's Haywire! He wants to escape too and Lincoln just immediately says okay. Partly because the dude's crazy, and mostly because he's holding the guard's radio, threatening to spoil their fun. They all take their white jumpsuits off. I'm thinking all that work they did to get their scents out of their cell will now be for nothing, since they've been wearing those jumpsuits for at least half an hour and they probably have their smell all over them. Anyway, since this all started because of Lincoln, he's the first out of the window and as he hangs upside down, they all put their jumpsuits on him. I'm thinking this will be for the barbed wire. He quickly makes it to the other side. Abruzzi then comes up with the idea that they'll go alphabetically. Alphabetic by their real name, or alphabetic by their prison name. Regardless, it's Abruzzi who goes next.

Pope secretary and the guards have confirmed that no, he is not in the office and no, he did not leave through some back door. Once Lincoln's across, Abruzzi starts. We see the end of the wire start to give a little and I'm thinking Manche's never going to make it over. Sucre's next so I'm convinced they're not going by their prison names. C-Note goes to Westmoreland who's now sitting on the ground, unable to move. Michael and C-Note are tending to him as Haywire starts out of the window. Michael encourages Westmoreland that he can make it over the wall but Westmoreland's not buying it. He makes Michael promise to go see his daughter for him. Man, that's the luckiest dying woman in the world to get a visit from that. Michael promises to visit. Then, he tells Michael where the money is hidden, at the Double T Ranch in Toole, Utah. I bet the President from 24's from there. He then tells them that because of the embarrassment him stealing it caused, the didn't tell the public exactly how much was stolen. It wasn't one million dollars, it's five. The people remaining in the room all look at each other, Michael, C-Note, Tweener, Manche and T-Bag, all having heard what Westmoreland just said. It's gonna be like Cannon Ball Run. Awesome.

The brainstrust that is Pope's secretary and guards, finally realizes something's not right. They decide to call his cell phone. I get a personal flashback now, of being outside of a room and calling someone's cell phone almost hearing it ring on the other side. Story for another time. They do hear his phone from the closet and quickly open it up. At the same time, sadly, Westmoreland tells Michael to give Anna his love and Michael says that he will. T-Bag takes off, then C-Note, as Michael makes Westmoreland more comfortable. At this moment, the guards find Pope who's struggling to speak. They ungag him and he says to sound the alarm.

Manche's obviously going next and Lincoln doesn't look like he likes that idea. Westmoreland tells Michael to go and I'm screaming at the television too. Manche's scared to go so he insists that Michael do it first. Michael goes and is doing fairly well, until the huge lights turn on and the alarm sounds. He's hurrying as fast as he can and fortunately, because these Mensa member guards aren't expecting people to be crawling on a wire above them, don't really look like they've noticed the group yet. Cue Manche to get overzealous and decide this is his time. He hops on the cable which sends it flying to the ground. Luckily Michael's close enough to be almost in reach of his brother's outreached hand. Manche though is on the ground with dogs and guards swarming him. They see the wire hanging and look up, to which they see only the spot where the group crossed. Yay! They've officially broken out of prison!!!!!! Finally!
